To determine the elevated temperature performance of the part, or, alternatively, the dimensions required to operate within the limits imposed, we repeat the calculations. Since the short-term strength is not the limiting factor only the creep analysis is required. The elevated temperature will reduce the strength and increase the creep. Since the glass-reinforced polystyrene is the choice at room temperature, it will be the choice at elevated temperature since it loses strength less with temperature than the unmodified polystyrene and the polypropylene. 

The analysis of the processes leading to the degradation of solids and various materials is of interest in many different aspects. These include the analysis of the properties of materials, the nature and character of the stressed state, and the means by which loads are applied. The latter include testing using constant strain rates, creep analysis, measurements of stability with loads applied over extended periods of time, resistance to impact, cyclic fatigue, and many others. Numerous standard test methods were developed for various materials under different conditions. The influence of the specific conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and the presence of surface-active substances also represents the subject of essential studies. Depending on the particular combination of all these factors, a particular type of material degradation can be observed. 

The relative contributions of the two creep mechanisms were evaluated for the Sn-Ag-Cu alloys. In general, grain boundary diffusion processes dominated at low temperatures (and concurrently, high stresses) while bulk diffusion was predominant at high temperature (and correspondingly, low stresses). It was observed that nearly equivalent contribution occvured at approximately 75 °C (167 °F). Recall that this was also the transition temperature between the low and temperature regimes observed in the compression creep analysis of the 95.5Sn-3.9Ag-0.6Cu (Ref 65).
