Credential application

Some trade organizations and technical societies were invited to submit nominees for membership in WRISE and 20 individuals have been selected as initial Institute members. All possess credentials of accomplishment in pollution prevention, show evidence of a continuing interest in environmental protection and are, or have been, responsible for plant management or process design/selection or are highly knowledgeable of industrial operations for which waste reduction techniques are applicable. 

Medical grade nitrous oxide is a prescription drug sold as a compressed liquid in cylinder tanks. Its buyer requires appropriate credentials to obtain it (which are governed by state law). Nitrous oxide used for other legitimate applications, such as manufacturing and auto racing, is often sold in a denatured form. Denatured nitrous contains chemicals that render it unfit for human consumption. 

Study the applications and resumes. Look for accomplishments and credentials on which you want the candidate to expand. Also note frequent job changes, gaps in employment, demotions, inconsistencies in history, or incomplete information on references about which you want to learn more. 

To be credentialed, health care professionals usually are required to submit specific information to the insurance carrier, such as license numbers, malpractice insurance information, board certifications, and copies of diplomas. Health insurance plans may have specific requirements, such as requiring physicians and other health care professionals to have specific credentials, carry a specified amount of malpractice insurance, or be board certified. The health care professional typically submits this information along with an application (Snella, 1999). 

Steven F. Watkins After the application has been made, we generally ask the students to come in before we give any offer. We do not generally make offers until we see and talk to the students and look at their credentials. We then invite the student to visit for a day, sometimes two, and to meet with each faculty member individually and personally. We do not have group interviews because nobody likes them. Occasionally, if a student s credentials are good and he or she looks great in the interviews, we will produce an offer letter and give it to them in person.

The principles and processes of pharmaceutical care practice are needed and applicable to patients in all pharmacy settings, including (but not limited to) inpatient, outpatient, community pharmacy, and academic sites. Practice is not restricted to select pharmacists based on years of experience, degree, specialty practice certificate, board certification, residency experience, or academic appointment. It is not a function of professional credentials or place of work but rather the desire and competence to take responsibility for the outcomes of each patient s drug therapy. 

Eollowing receipt of the completed application and application fee, the candidate s submission is reviewed by the Credentiailing Committee. The committee uses a standardized credential review document among the application reviewers. A formal letter from the president... 

The validity of conclusions based on induction is less clear than those based on deduction. Since no investigation can test every possible application of a theory or hypothesis, the conclusions made based upon that theory or hypothesis must be evaluated in a tentative or probabilistic sense. Conclusions based on a theory that has withstood a long period of empirical scrutiny with unmitigated success may be judged to be more valid than those based on a theory with fewer scientific credentials. Thus, the validity of a conclusion must be judged based on logic and the relative weight of the evidence that supports it. 

A qualified new graduate seeking employment in the chemical development or discovery department of a fipco can expect other chemists to evaluate his credentials and to extend or withhold a job offer. Although personnel staffers may screen applicants to select qualified candidates and reject others, much of the hiring responsibility falls to experienced scientists. Once a job hunter accepts an offer and begins work, his bosses are likely to be fellow chemists they, not nonscientific staff, will judge his performance. 

This story highlights many success factors and gives you the opportunity to share something personal, but not private. This applicant has shown a healthy dose of self-esfeem, too. The applicant also highlighted leadership skills as well as technical skills. Remember, the interviewer can read/acts about you straight from your resume. The interview is all about conve)dng your credentials and communicating the hows and the whys of your experience in a cohesive narrative form. 

Supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of natural products from solid plant matrices is currently an established application, with over one hundred industrial facilities of various sizes operating throughout the world. Several books have been published describing this process in detail - see, for example Brunner [1]. The main green credential of these processes is the replacement of volatile organic solvents. Their implementation resulted, however, from definite technological advantages. 

Pasechnik was not concerned that the offer had come from the Ministry of Defense, as the military was the driving force behind most research conducted in the Soviet Union, even projects that had strictly civilian application. He built up his laboratory over the better part of the next decade, hiring 400 well-credentialed scientists to staff the facility, acquiring a relatively unlimited budget that gave his staff access to the latest Western biotechnology. 

Haber s work embraced the physical chemistry of gas reactions, following on from the equilibria studies of Le Chatelier and other chemists. Furthermore, Haber, in common with many leading German academic chemists, was well aware of the rewards that might accrue from successful industrial application of laboratory results. Haber s acute awareness of the industrial potential came over in his 1905 book Thermodynamik technischer Gasreaktionen (published in English as Thermodynamics of Technical Gas Reactions) His credentials and background were well suited to the needs of BASF. 

Any person that offers examinations or courses related to applications, licensing, certification, or credentialing for secondary or postsecondary education, professional, or trade purposes shall offer such examinations or courses in a place and manner accessible to persons with disabilities or offer alternative accessible arrangements for such individuals. 

Professional credentials or experience in systems safety are not required to appreciate the potential value of the systems approach and system safety techniques to general safety and health practice. Tliis book will help the reader move from system safety practice into far broader applications. 

Training must be presented by a trainer who has completed a training course on the subjects, or who has the credentials and experience to demonstrate competency. Required content of the training is detailed in paragraphs 1926.65(e), (p), and (q), where applicable. Upon successful completion of training, each employee is to receive a written certificate. Each employee must receive annual refresher training to maintain competency. 

There are companies that evaluate non-U.S. degrees and academic credentials for a fee. They rely on information that most registrars at U.S. universities use. Registrars evaluate student applications for comphance with school entry standards. 

Figure 2-1 gives a summary view of how licensing and certification work. To qualify, applicants typically meet education or training standards, offer experience in the practice domain, and sit for and pass an examination. The process helps employers and the public by assuring that someone has the background and knowledge essential for practice. The process verifies educational credentials and work experience.
