Recently, Meyer et al. (1994) published a method of optimizing the measurement of mass flowrates. The method is based on graph analysis and appears as a modification of the costed graph method given in Section 12.1, with the criterion (12.1.4). [Pg.454]

Costed graphs occur in various applications, mainly in the domain of economy. In this book, the notion is needed in Chapter 12. Thus an edge-costed graph is a graph G [N, J] where to each edge (arc) j is assigned a real number Cj, interpreted as the cost of a quantity associated with the arc. [Pg.507]

There are two criteria to use as the basis for evaluation. The design life of the shelf is determined by deciding what the product will tolerate in deflection and still be useful. The conditions used industrially for the Haber process are those that sustain the economic viability of its manufacture.
