Design corrugated

Anchors for Expansion Joints Anchors (such as those of the corrugated, omega, disk, or shp type) shall be designed to withstand the algebraic sum of the forces at the maximum pressure and temperature at which the joint is to be used. These forces are ... [Pg.1002]

Design Standard channel-plate designs, unique to each manufacturer, are developed with limited modifications of each plates corrugation depths and included angles. Manufacturers combine their different style plates to custom-fit each seiwice. Due to the possible combinations, it is impossible to present a way to exactly size PHEs. However, it is possible to estimate areas for new units and to predict performance or existing units with different conditions (chevron-type channel plates are presented). [Pg.1083]

The performances and estimating methods of welded PHEs match those of gasketed PHEs in most cases, but normally the Compabloc, with larger depth of corrugations, can be lower in overall coefficient. Some extensions of the design operating conditions are possible with welded PHEs, most notably is that ciyogenic applications are possible. Pressure vessel code acceptance is available on most units. [Pg.1085]

Specifications include dimensions of length, width, and depth, in that order (Fig. 21-40 ). When boxes are set up and closed by automatic equipment, dimensional tolerances become critical. Cartons are shipped knocked down to the user from plants located in all industrial centers. Because order lead time is 4 to 6 weeks, inventories of empty boxes require considerable space. A useful booklet describing all aspects or corrugated box designs and materials is the Fiber Box Handbook available from The Fiber Box Association, 2850 Gulf Road, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. [Pg.1959]

FIG. 21-61 Typ es of pallets. Designations are standard designs based on nomenclature of tbe National Wooden Pallet and Container Association, Washington, D.C. Types 2B and 2C are used for bags and corrugated cartons. Type 3 is used for drums and pails. [Pg.1984]

Compared with traditional plate-and-frame exchangers, this design relies on a more loosely corrugated chevron pattern, which provides exceptional resistance to clogging. The plates are designed with few, if any, contact points between adjacent plates to trap fibers or solids. Some styles of this exchanger use wide-gap plates on the process side and conventional chevron patterns on the coolant... [Pg.44]

The obvious question is Ts there an optimum design for the corrugations Unfortunately the answer is No because if one wishes to increase transverse stiffness then the obvious thing to do is to increase D up to the point where buckling problems start to be a concern. Usually this is when D/h = 10, for short-term loading and less than this for long term loading because of the decrease in modulus of viscoelastic materials. [Pg.83]

Thin to large wall Designing around TP problems is the joint responsibility of the product and mold designers. For example, one way to handle the problem of thin to large area walls is by the inclusion of long ribs into the product in the direction of plastic flow. These ribs are not a functional requirement of the product but they act as auxiliary runners attached to the product to facilitate plastic flow in difficult to fill areas. In some instances the ribs may be used as a surface decoration like a corrugation or they may be on the concealed side of the product where they are stiffeners. [Pg.278]

Early SM boilers were manufactured with between two and four corrugated furnace tubes in wet-back and dry-back versions and generally incorporated heat recovery equipment such as economizers and air heaters. Some designs also provided for superheaters and for coal, oil, or gas fuel firing. Many of the best features are incorporated in the SM boilers commonly available today. [Pg.32]
