Contractions, avoiding

Asymptomatic ventricular premature contractions Avoid treatment of patients with this condition. [Pg.439]

The disadvantages of tolling are less clear cut. A contract is intended to limit liabilities for at least one and hopefully both parties. Tolling liability can be limited by identifying potential problems and avoiding them using techniques presented in this... [Pg.7]

Although the standard does not specifically require a quality planning procedure, to ensure that such planning is carried out in a manner which avoids conflict with existing practices and in a format which suits your operations, you will need to prescribe the method to be employed in a procedure. Some contracts may stipulate a particular format for contract-specific procedures, especially when they are to be submitted to the customer for approval. If these procedures are only used by the project team, this may not cause any conflict. However, if they are to be used by staff in the line departments, you may have to reach a compromise with the customer so that any differences in format do not create implementation problems. [Pg.187]

The definition of nonconformity in ISO 8402 states that it is the nonfulfillment of specified requirements therefore a nonconforming product is one that does not conform to the specified requirements. Specified requirements are either requirements prescribed by the customer and agreed by the supplier in a contract for products or services, or are requirements prescribed by the supplier which are perceived as satisfying a market need. This limits the term nonconformity to situations where you have failed to meet customer requirements. However, ISO 8402 1987 suggests that nonconformity also applies to the absence of one or more quality system elements, but clearly the requirements of clause 4.13 cannot be applied to nonconformity with quality s /stem requirements. Both ISO 9001 and ISO 9004 only address nonconformity in the context of products, processes, and services and when addressing quality system elements the term deficiencies is used. Some auditors use the term nonconformity to describe a departure from the requirements of ISO 9001 but it would be preferable if they chose the term noncompliance to avoid any confusion. The requirements of clause 4.13 therefore only apply to products, processes, and services and not to activities, quality system elements, or procedures. [Pg.433]

Cerium, for which the sudden contraction and reduction in energy of the 4f orbitals immediately after La is not yet sufficient to avoid occupancy of the 5d orbital. [Pg.1232]

Verbal contracts are fraught with problems and should be avoided where possible. For example, to prove that a verbal contract has been entered into without the work having been carried out will need parole evidence in court. Where arbitration is entered into later, a verbal contract does not come under the Arbitration Acts 1950 and 1979. [Pg.91]

On most contracts, there are requests by the contractor for clarification of the specification or for instructions with regards to variations. These requests need to be answered promptly to avoid a claim for damages by the contractor, which may result from delay of the works. [Pg.93]

There is no sure way of avoiding claims with respect to contracts, but the following summary may be of assistance to the plant engineer ... [Pg.97]

It is very important to understand that an insurance policy is a legal document, and insurance negotiations should be approached on this basis. Insurance contracts have a detailed legal background of both case law and common law in the interpretation of their provisions. Professional insurance advice from a reputable source, whether an insurance company or an insurance broker, is essential if problems are to be avoided. [Pg.163]

It is essential to have any agreement properly drawn up in conjunction with the organization s legal section and to use reputable and busy heat service companies. It is important to lay down strict details of the period of the contract and of the services to be provided so that future legal difficulties can be avoided. [Pg.468]

Contract hire. Although not strictly a source of outside finance, this is a method of avoiding capital outlay, especially favored for vehicles. Again, there are many varying systems to be found. [Pg.1038]

Far superior yields of l-(arylsulfonyl)-l//-azepines 16 are now available by a one-pot synthesis involving the action of sodium azide on an arylsulfonyl chloride under solid-liquid phase-transfer conditions which prevents the formation of acidic sulfonamides and, hence, the ring-contraction process.75 This procedure also has the advantage of avoiding the use of high pressures and the isolation and handling of the potentially explosive sulfonyl azides. [Pg.142]

One should note overall, that while some of these suggested mechanisms may in the future prove to have a role in the control of smooth muscle contraction, in chemically skinned preparations maximum force development follows activation by the MLCK active subunit in extremely low Ca " ion concentrations. The conclusion can hardly be avoided that phosphorylation alone is sufficient for activation, and if another mechanism is involved, it is not necessary for the initial genesis of force. If such mechanisms are operative, then they might be expected to run in parallel or consequent to myosin phosphorylation. A possible example of this category of effect is that a GTP-dependent process (G-protein) shifts the force vs. Ca ion concentration relationship to lower Ca ion concentrations. This kind of mechanism calls attention to the divergence of signals along the intracellular control pathways. [Pg.178]

The first summation requires electron repulsion integrals with four virtuaJ indices. Efficient algorithms that avoid the storage of these integrals have been discussed in detail [20]. For every orbital index, p, this OV contraction must be repeated for each energy considered in the pole search it is usually the computational bottleneck. [Pg.42]

Painting is generally performed by a contractor on a bid basis. Unless another agreement is made, a contractor will furnish the lowest priced paint that will do an acceptable job, even though it may have inferior durability. To avoid this, the contract should be very specific with regard to the type of paint to be used. It may even specify a certain brand. [Pg.67]
