Crown ethers and cryptands show much of the same functional group chemistry as simple ether- or amine-containing molecules. During EEA modeling, preliminarily, simplified modeled function- or component-systems with ASIL assignment are refined, which includes specification of their internal stmcture by sub-systems. The criteria for coexistence ([6] part 10, chapter 6) can be applied to the refined system, if it can be proven, that only some of the subsystems are involved in fulfilling the safety requirements and that these determined sub-systems are not influenced by the others. Process descriptions are closely related to production resource functionality they enable describing the composition of functionalities into obtaining functionalities that are more complex. Examples here are workflow patterns, such as the sequential or parallel execution of functions. Process ontologies provide useful primitives for describing the stmcture of production processes, for example, the workflow stmcture in which its steps are organized.
