Composites sheets

Multilayered composite sheets and plates can be bonded in a single explosion, and cladding of both sides of a backing metal can be achieved simultaneously. When two sides are clad, the two prime or clad metals need not be of the same thickness nor of the same metal or alloy. [Pg.143]

Axially split casings may have a composition sheet gasket or a metal-to-metal joint the vendor s bid shall state which is being offered. [Pg.58]

A.2.4 Discontinuous-Fiber-Reinforced Polymer-Matrix Composites Sheet Molding Compound. Of the parameters influencing the mechanical properties in short-fiber-reinforced polymer-matrix composites, fiber composition, matrix composition, fiber geometry, and manufacturing method will be elaborated upon here. [Pg.493]

Plastic Flooring. Plastic flooring is marketed either as tile or sheet flooring. Tile is supplied as pieces usually 30.5 x 30.5 cm with a thickness of 0.16—0.32 cm and is usually homogeneous in composition. Sheet flooring, on the other hand, is produced in roll form 1.8, 2.7,3.7 and 4.6 m wide (2- and 4-m in Europe), and generally consists of a plastic upper component on a fibrous backing. [Pg.335]

For penetration stain, a 0.5 mm thick veneer of white, non-discolouring rubber, is applied under pressure to a sheet of the test rubber and the composite vulcanized. A test piece cut from the composite sheet is exposed to artificial light and examined for staining. The composition of the white veneer is left for agreement between the interested parties. Alternatively, part of a finished product incorporating a veneer may be used or the rubber test piece without the veneer coated with a non-staining white laquer. [Pg.378]

The chemical compositions of the essential oils are readily accessible from a wide range of aromatherapy books, periodicals and composition sheets, in the guidelines given by organizations and regulatory bodies, and from the data sheets and analyses obtainable from the oil suppliers. [Pg.132]

A method is proposed for using chrome tanned leather wastes produced by the footwear and clothing industry as fillers in polymer matrices. A technique for processing the composite obtained by continuous extrusion is also demonstrated. In order to evaluate the technique, a series of PVC-leather fibre composites was prepared and extruded through a flat die to produce sheets. The process produced a leather-like sheet that could be used in several applications. The influence of the filler content on the processability and final properties of the composite sheets was evaluated. The tests revealed that the sheets were flexible and exhibited suitable water absorption levels for several applications in the footwear and clothing industry. Finally, the tests showed that this composite could be formulated and processed at high productivity levels and at a low cost. 28 refs. [Pg.128]
