Composite water sample

Water samples are usually collected as grab samples. For regulatory compliance, as part of NPDES permits, composite samples may be required. Composite samples of water may be prepared either on a flow-proportional basis or as time composites. Water samples for VOC, SVOC, TPH and oil and grease analysis are never composited. [Pg.136]

AAS techniques are commonly used for determination of selenium in environmental samples. Hydride generation AAS is more sensitive than flame or graphite furnace AAS for determination of selenium in materials of variable composition. Brown and Huffman [85] reported an investigation of the concentration and composition of nonvolatile hydrocarbons in Atlantic Ocean and nearby waters.
