CEN (Comite Europeean de Normalisation) Std. EN12874. 2001. Flame Arresters-Speeifieations, Operational Requirements and Test Procedures. European Committee for Standardization, Brussels, Belgium. [Pg.132]

A new CEN European standard, EN 12874, was issued in 2001. It will be used by all European nations that belong to the European Union (EU) that are members of the Comite Enropeean de Normalisation (CEN), as well as other non-EU nations that are members of the CEN. It will supersede BS 7224 in England, FEB and BAM in Germany, and standards in use in other European countries. This is a very comprehensive standard covering types of flame arresters not covered in US, Canadian, and other standards. It contains test procedures for the following types of flame arresters ... [Pg.160]

Comite des Constructeurs d Automobiles du Marche Commun represents joint industry opinion on factors such as lubricant specifications, emissions, vehicle design and safety standards. With regard to crankcase lubricants, CCMC defines sequences of engine tests, and the tests themselves are defined by CEC (Coordinating European Committee for the Development of Performance Tests for Lubricants and Engine Euels a joint body of the oil and motor industries). [Pg.851]

The two-phase titration method is still the most commonly used method, but due to the current concern regarding the health risks of chloroform, nowadays efforts are being devoted to develop an alternative standard method. This subject is on the agenda of the CESIO (Comite Europeen des Agents de Surface et leurs Intermediaries Organiques) Analysis Working Group. [Pg.282]

In 1949, J. Bockris, P. Van Rysselberghe, M. Pourbaix, and others founded the Comite International de Thermodynamique et Cinetique Electrochimique (CITCE), which was subsequently transformed into the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE). At about the same time, the publication of two major English electrochemical journals was organized Electrochimica Acta and the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry. [Pg.698]

Other less volatile monomers such as those found in acrylic materials are detected and quantified in solution by GC. Derivatisation methods are employed for a wide variety of amine and hydroxyl monomers. CEN (Comite Europeen de Normalisation) has published standard methods for the determination of extractable monomers from food-contact materials. These methods are detailed in Table 10. [Pg.594]

The ITS 90 was adopted by the Comite International des Poids et Mesures in September 1989 [14-16], The ITS 90 extends from 0.65 K to the highest temperatures, practicably measurable in terms of the Planck radiation law using monochromatic radiation. The defining fixed points of the ITS 90 are mostly phase transition temperatures of pure substances given in Table 8.2. [Pg.194]

Taking up a 2005 recommendation of the Consultative Committee for Thermometry (CCT) [25], the Comite International des Poids et Mesures (CIPM) created a mise en practique of the definition of the kelvin containing clarifications and recommendations of the CCT concerning the realization of the definition of the kelvin and the implementation of practical temperature scales. [Pg.199]

Above the freezing point of silver, Tgq is defined in terms of a defining fixed point and the Planck radiation law, and optical pyrometers are frequently used as temperature probes. The Comite Consultatif de Thermometrie gives a thorough discussion of the different techniques for approximation of the international temperature scale of 1990 [2, 4],... [Pg.305]
