Combination circuit construction

A combination circuit takes the characteristics of both the series and parallel circuits and combines them to accomplish the desired result. Most circuits constructed in todays electrons use the combination circuit. [Pg.297]

An appropriate combination of a basic structure and supplemental stmctures should be chosen according to the reqnirements of the apphcation. Also, appropriate termination technologies and suitable circuit constructions must be considered together. [Pg.1487]

Many applications of novolacs are found in the electronics industry. Examples include microchip module packaging, circuit board adhesives, and photoresists for microchip etching. These applications are very sensitive to trace metal contamination. Therefore the applicable novolacs have stringent metal-content specifications, often in the low ppb range. Low level restrictions may also be applied to free phenol, acid, moisture, and other monomers. There is often a strong interaction between the monomers and catalysts chosen and attainment of low metals levels. These requirements, in combination with the high temperature requirements mentioned above, often dictate special materials be used for reactor vessel construction. Whereas many resoles can be processed in mild steel reactors, novolacs require special alloys (e.g. Inconel ), titanium, or glass for contact surfaces. These materials are very expensive and most have associated maintenance problems as well. [Pg.920]

A combination of different techniques can frequently improve yields of final compounds or synthetic conditions, for example a reunion of direct electrochemical synthesis and simultaneous ultrasonic treatment of the reaction system [715]. Reunion of microwave and ultrasonic treatment was an aim to construct an original microwave-ultrasound reactor suitable for organic synthesis (pyrolysis and esterification) (Fig. 3.7) [716], The US system is a cup horn type the emission of ultrasound waves occurs at the bottom of the reactor. The US probe is not in direct contact with the reactive mixture. It is placed a distance from the electromagnetic field in order to avoid interactions and short circuits. The propagation of the US waves into the reactor occurs by means of decalin introduced into the double jacket. This liquid was chosen by the authors of Ref. 716 because of its low viscosity that induces good propagation of ultrasonic waves and inertia towards microwaves. [Pg.282]

For consecutive or parallel electrode reactions it is logical to construct circuits based on the Randles circuit, but with more components. Figure 11.16 shows a simulation of a two-step electrode reaction, with strongly adsorbed intermediate, in the absence of mass transport control. When the combinations are more complex it is indispensable to resort to digital simulation so that the values of the components in the simulation can be optimized, generally using a non-linear least squares method (complex non-linear least squares fitting). [Pg.245]

To estimate the effects of electrode polarization, the equivalent circuit of Fig. 16 can be used. It shows a blocking layer capacitance Cb (actually the series combination of two identical capacitors — one at each electrode interface) together with a parallel R — C circuit representing the bulk material. The separate thicknesses of the blocking layer 2tb and the total specimen length, L, must be used to construct the capacitances and resistance. The blocking layer capacitance Cb has the value... [Pg.21]

Impedance models are constructed according to the electrochemical phenomena. The total impedance of an electrochemical system can be expressed by different combinations of the electrical elements. This section covers the features of basic equivalent circuits commonly used in electrochemical systems. In Appendix D, the effect of an element parameter change on a spectrum related to a given equivalent circuit is described in detail. [Pg.143]

In summary, simple combinations of elements and basic equivalent circuits for electrochemical systems have been introduced in this section. Although these models are relatively simple, they are commonly employed in the investigation of electrochemical systems, including fuel cells. A real electrochemical system may be much more complicated. However, complicated electrochemical systems can still be constructed from these basic equivalent circuits. [Pg.180]

The electric circuit of membrane electrode assemblies is a combination of anode and cathode catalyst layers plus the membrane. In general, the anode catalyst layer is considered an electric circuit, the cathode catalyst layer is considered another electric circuit similar to that of the anode but with different RC values, and the membrane is treated as a resistance. These three electric circuits are connected in series to construct a whole-cell equivalent circuit. A typical impedance spectrum is shown in Chapter 1 as Figure 1.16. Since the anode reaction is significantly faster than the cathode, the RC electric circuit of the anode can be disregarded. [Pg.191]

An electrical component or combination of components of simple construction with well-defined electrical parameters which is compatible with the intrinsic safety of the circuit in which it is used... [Pg.367]

Application of the Ohm s law analogy allows construction of combined series parallel thermal circuits to describe a specific drying application. The flow of heat energy through the circuit shown in Fig. 3 can be described as... [Pg.1438]
