COBRA evaluation

In a subsequent study, we examined the influence of seven similarity indices on the enrichment of actives using the topological CATS descriptor and the 12 COBRA datasets [31]. In particular, we evaluated to what extent different similarity measures complement each other in terms of the retrieved active compounds. Retrospective screening experiments were carried out with seven similarity measures Manhattan distance, Euclidian distance, Tanimoto coefficient, Soergel distance, Dice coefficient, cosine coefficient, and spherical distance. Apart from the GPCR dataset, considerable enrichments were achieved. Enrichment factors for the same datasets but different similarity measures differed only slightly. For most of the datasets the Manhattan and the Soergel distance... [Pg.60]

To practice searching for and choosing source material, find three recent works on your essay topic available in your library. If you don t have an essay topic yet, pick a subject that interests you, one that is likely to appear in both print and electronic sources (Baseball Hall of Fame, stamp collecting, the Titanic disaster, king cobras, etc.). If possible, try to find three different kinds of sources, such as a book, a journal article, and a Web site. After you have recorded bibliographic information for each source, locate and evaluate the works. Does each of these sources provide relevant, reliable information In a few sentences explain why you believe each one would or would not be an appropriate source for your research essay. [Pg.393]

Plant safety assessment projects improve the abilities of designers, operators, and regulators to evaluate the safety of their plants through the use of internationally accepted methodologies and computer analysis codes. An example of a key accomplishment in this area is training technical personnel to use the COBRA-SFS computer code to perform thermal-hydraulic analysis (shown in Fig. 4). [Pg.35]

Abstract - The crucial details for the interpretation of spatial structures and intermolecular interactions of peptides and proteins could be revealed by proper combination of physical and chemical techniques. The paper presents the results of the combined approach for the evaluation of the conformation in solution of honey-bee venom component apamin (18 membered polypeptide), of three dimensional structure of Central Asian cobra neurotoxin II (61 amino acid residues), and of the topography of its binding site with acetylcholine receptor Torpedo Marmorata. [Pg.231]

This work evaluated the CHF for LABGENE through experimental design and by simulating the test section under reactor operational conditions through COBRAIIIc/MIT-1 code (Jackson Todreas 1981). COBRA is a thermal-hydraulic code widely used to evaluate the core of PWRs by... [Pg.923]
