IFN-co (Intarcia Therapeutics, Emeryville, California) has been reported to be well tolerated and safe, in patients infected with various HCV genotypes, at doses of 15-120pg three times weekly for 12 weeks, with dose-dependent virological and biochemical responses (Plauth et al. 2002). At a dose of 25 pg daily, IFN-co induced a 2-log HCV RNA dechne at week 12 in two-thirds of 74 patients infected with HCV genotype 1 (Gorbakov et al. 2005). In a recent trial, SVR was achieved in 6% and 36% of patients receiving the same dose of IFN-O) without and with ribavirin, respectively (Novozhenov et al. 2007). A new trial of IFN-m, delivered continuously by an implantable device, will start soon. [Pg.218]

The c(4 x 2)-2CO structure observed20 at Ni(lll) at room temperature has CO occupying both fee and hep threefold hollow adsorption sites with a surface coverage of 0.5 ML. So as to maximise the 0-0 distance, the molecular axis is tilted away from the surface normal towards atop positions. Corrugation of the adlayer is attributed to a CO-induced buckling of the surface nickel atoms, which is manifested by height differences between adjacent CO molecules (Figure 8.6). [Pg.143]

The Pauson-Khand reaction is the Co-induced formation of cyclopentenones from ene-ynes and CO. One impressive example of a domino Pauson-Khand process is the synthesis of fenestrane 6/4-15, as reported by Keese and colleagues [278]. The transformation is initiated by a double Grignard reaction of 4-pentynoic acid 6/4-12, followed by protection of the formed tertiary hydroxyl group to give 6/4-13. The Co-induced polycyclization of 6/4-13 led directly to the fenestrane 6/4-15... [Pg.459]

Most recently, the formation of Cp2Ti(CO)2 (1) by the CO-induced disproportionation of (Cp2TiCl)2 has been studied (31). Nardelli and co-workers found that exposure of a THF solution of (Cp2TiCl)2 to CO at 20°C over a 3-day period resulted in CO uptake corresponding to one-quarter the theoretical amount required for formation of 1. A 1 1... [Pg.324]

A monocarbonyl complex of zirconocene has been proposed by Floriani and co-workers as a transient intermediate in the carbonylation of the bridging oxymethylene complex (Cp2ZrCl)2(Ai-CH20) (57) (104,105). The assignment of 58 as the proposed intermediate to the final carbonylation product, [Cp2Zr(/i-CHO=CHO)]2 (59), was based on the appearance of a metal carbonyl band at 1970 cm-1 together with the subsequent CO-induced loss of Cp2ZrCl2. [Pg.368]

If PAH-degrading microorganisms use broad-specificity enzymes or common pathways to transform multiple PAHs, then inducers for the metabolism of one PAH substrate might co-induce the transformation of a range of PAHs. Preliminary evidence indicated that the transformation of naphthalene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, and pyrene by Pseudomonas saccharophila P15 was stimulated by salicylate [132], a known inducer of naphthalene metabolism in pseudomonads [43]. However, Chen and Aitken [181] reported in more detail the inducing effects of salicylate on the transformation of various HMW PAHs by Pseudomonas saccharophila P15 isolated from contaminated soil, including... [Pg.382]

The reaction mechanisms for water vapors do not only influence the sensor resistance but also the detection of CO. A promotion of CO-induced reactions is observed. [Pg.13]

Kay This is more George Coupland s domain. He doesn t know exactly how CO induces FT expression. He has CO oestrogen receptor in cell culture, and if you give it oestrogen it translocates to the nucleus and you see FT come on. There is no evidence that CO binds DNA. No one knows what the partner is or... [Pg.84]

The overall synthesis involves two consecutive steps. The first one is a CO-induced reductive carbonylation of RUCI3 3H2O, producing in sim an equilibrium mixture of two carbonylchlororuthenium(II) complexes, [Ru(CO)2Cl2] and [Ru(CO)3Cl2]2-... [Pg.110]

P-gp and CYP3A are co-localized within the apex of absorptive entero-cytes, they have similar substrate specificities, and they are co-inducible in response to some xenobiotics [89, 97], These observations have led to the proposition that p-gp and CYP3A may be functionally linked and act in concert to limit the exposure of xenobiotics/drugs to the small intestine and portal circulation [89, 97],... [Pg.103]

The clean Pt(210) surface is nonreconstructed and there is also no indication for a CO-induced alteration of the atomic positions within the unit cell. In this case, however, under reaction conditions, continuous faceting, again with creation of other crystal planes, preferably (110), takes place. The latter may then in turn be subject to periodic structural transformations, which then accounts for the observed integral oscillatory behavior. [Pg.220]
