Cluff

Unconformity-Related Deposits. Deposits of the unconformity-related type occur spatially close to significant unconformities. These deposits usually developed during the period about 1800—800 million years ago in intracratonic basins. Deposits also developed during Phanerozoic time. Examples of unconformity-related deposits include the ore bodies at Cluff Lake, Key Lake, and Rabbit Lake in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, and those in the Alligator Rivers area in northern AustraHa (12).

Swollen tension methods using various sample-gripping techniques have been attempted, but none has been completely satisfactory. Compression methods, on the other hand, avoid the gripping problems, although it is difficult to attain parallel swollen sample faces, and errors occur in determining strain. Cluff, Gladding, and Pariser (19) have described compression techniques for swollen vulcanizates, and these methods have been used to characterize propellant crosslink density (48). The fourth design feature is the formation of a liquid crystalline structure. During the last fifteen years, liquid crystalline polymers (LCP) have become one of the most exciting polymer families synthesized by chemists. Eosinophilia may develop, but the proportion of patients reported to show it varied in different surveys. Fever (post-operative) may be interpreted as indicating sensitisation to halothane (Reed and Williams 1972). It should be added that, in experimental animals, fever could occur as a result of various immune mechanisms, e. g., delayed hypersensitivity, Arthus reaction or immune complexes (Cluff and Johnson 1964). 

The nonallergic Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction following use of penicillins has become a rare event (Butterly and Fishman 1972 Gudjonsson 1972 Dewdney 1980), while the mechanisms of isolated penicillin-induced fever (Cluff and Johnson 1964 Chusid and Atkins 1972) are still under discussion.
