Circular list

Linked lists—Data items linked by pointers. In the general form, each item, except the first, has one predecessor, and each item, except the last, has one successor, with pointers linking items to their successors. Doubly linked lists have pointers to both the predecessor and the successor of an item and a circular list has a pointer from the final item to the initial item (producing a predecessor to the initial item and a successor to the final item). Restricted lists also exist, such as stacks, where items may only be added (pushed) or deleted (popped) at one end (the top), and queues, where items must be inserted at one end and deleted from the other. Trees are linked lists in which each item (node) except the root node has one predecessor, but all nodes may have any finite number, or zero, successors graphs contain both nodes and edges, which connect the nodes and define their relationships. 

We have started to extend the source code of HelenOS kernel with annotations understood by Frama-C [9] and VCC [18]. Initially we have targeted simple kernel data structures (doubly-linked circular lists) and basic locking operations. Currently we are evaluating the initial experiences and we are trjdng to identify the most suitable methodology, but we expect quite promising results. 

We divide the discussion of data structures into two parts those needed in updating the walk, and those needed in testing self-avoidance. As will be seen, it is usually necessary to maintain redundant data structures, in order that both operations can be carried out efficiently. For the first task, one typically uses linear (or circular) lists of various kinds for the second task, one uses bit tables or hash tables. A lucid discussion of these structures can be found in Ref. 94, Chapters 11 and 12. 

For the slithering-snake (reptation) algorithm one should use a sequentially allocated circular list the walk coordinates are stored in sequential memory locations, but in general in a cyclically permuted order,. i.e.

In conclusion, simulated and measured values are in good agreement, and the achieved accuracy is sufficient for system-level simulations. The experimental results for the characteristic data of a circular microhotplate design are listed in Table 4.3. 

There are many different zeolite structures but only a few have been studied extensively for membrane applications. Table 10.1 lists some of these structures and their basic properties. One of the most critical selection criterion when choosing a zeolite for a particular application is the pore size exhibited by the material. Figure 10.1 compares the effective pore size of the different zeolitic materials with various molecule kinetic diameters.
