Chronology of events

Next the team develops a chronology of events based on the available known times and sequences. This document is usually referred to as a timeline. (See the detailed description of timeline development in Section 9.3.) Unconfirmed assumptions regarding chronology should be clearly identified as unconfirmed, and action should be initiated to verify assumptions. Many investigators use relatively simple timelines (instead of sequence diagrams) with the logic tree methods because the logic tree itself shows the interactions of events and conditions. 

The development of a chronology of events leading to the incident based on the available known times and sequences using a timeline. 

Quality assurance tests should be applied to enhance the process. A completeness test can help identify gaps or omissions in the chronology of events, while a sufficiency test can check the logic in a sequence diagram by comparing two adjoining facts to verify if one fact always leads to the second fact. 

Three matters remain to be considered prior to proceeding to further photochemistry. These deal with the questions whether the excited state undergoing transformation is actually the n-ir singlet or triplet, whether the precise chronology of events is as outlined in the dienone rearrangement mechanisms, and whether this sequence is general. 

The focus of the CRF audit is on consistency with the protocol, ease of completion (e.g. module-based style, chronology of events) and compliance with SOPs and any requirements outlined by data management (DGGF, 2003). 

In 2009 The Aral Sea Encyclopedia authored by Zorni, Glantz, Kostianoy, and Kosarev was published by Springer [52]. The encyclopedia presents environmental issues, national and international programs, prominent historical figures, a history of research and studies carried out on the sea, and includes a chronology of events... 

The chronology of events that resulted in generalizations 1 -5 will not be presented in detail because this topic is extensively discussed in another account (6). Complex synthetic applications will be included to the extent necessary to illustrate stereochemical issues. Many other interesting examples are explored in a recent review by Maryanoff and Reitz (2j). The emphasis will be on the typical reactions and on the correlation of stereochemical results. Exceptional cases will be discussed where necessary to illustrate the limitations of current mechanistic models.

Levees Broke, a four-hour dommentary about New Orleans during and after Hurricane Katrina, generally follows the chronology of events that devastated a city and its people. As described by supervising editor and co-producer Sam Pollard in Chapter 23, there is a narrative arc to each hour and to the series. But the complexity of the four-hour film and its interweaving of dozens of individual stories, rather than a select few, differentiate it from a more traditional form of narrative. 

The chronology of events leading to the full conversion of the Kidd cellhouse to automated stripping is depicted in Figure 5. 

Structured interviews with key members of staff are then undertaken to establish the chronology of events, the main care delivery problems and their respective contributory factors, as perceived by each member of staff. The key questions are What happened (the outcome and chronology) How did it happen (the care delivery problems) and Why did it happen (the contributory factors). Examples of care delivery problems and a summary of the process are shown in Boxes 8.3 and 8.4. 

The completed chart, along with the other analytical tools, is used in writing the accident report. The primary event line provides the chronology of events.

This book is very unusual in the field of organization studies because it is a collaborative effort to dissect a decision-making situation from many perspectives. The nearest forerunners are probably Allison and Zelikow s (1999) book on the Cuban missile crisis and Moss and Sills et al. s (1981) book about the accident at Three Mile Island, which also used multiple lenses to interpret single chronologies of events.
