Resistance to penetration by micro-organisms is covered by EN 374-2 and protection from low temperatures in EN 511. Careful handling and regular inspection are essential since chemicals and abrasion will eventually cause deterioration of gloves. Rinsing in clean water and drying naturally will prolong their life. 

The analysis demonstrates the elegant use of a very specific type of column packing. As a result, there is no sample preparation, so after the serum has been filtered or centrifuged, which is a precautionary measure to protect the apparatus, 10 p.1 of serum is injected directly on to the column. The separation obtained is shown in figure 13. The stationary phase, as described by Supelco, was a silica based material with a polymeric surface containing dispersive areas surrounded by a polar network. Small molecules can penetrate the polar network and interact with the dispersive areas and be retained, whereas the larger molecules, such as proteins, cannot reach the interactive surface and are thus rapidly eluted from the column. The chemical nature of the material is not clear, but it can be assumed that the dispersive surface where interaction with the small molecules can take place probably contains hydrocarbon chains like a reversed phase. 

The darkness associated with dense interstellar clouds is caused by dust particles of size =0.1 microns, which are a common ingredient in interstellar and circum-stellar space, taking up perhaps 1% of the mass of interstellar clouds with a fractional number density of 10-12. These particles both scatter and absorb external visible and ultraviolet radiation from stars, protecting molecules in dense clouds from direct photodissociation via external starlight. They are rather less protective in the infrared, and are quite transparent in the microwave.6 The chemical nature of the dust particles is not easy to ascertain compared with the chemical nature of the interstellar gas broad spectral features in the infrared have been interpreted in terms of core-mantle particles, with the cores consisting of two populations, one of silicates and one of carbonaceous, possibly graphitic material. The mantles, which appear to be restricted to dense clouds, are probably a mixture of ices such as water, carbon monoxide, and methanol.7...

Tetrakishydroxymethylphosphonium salts (THPC, THPS, etc.) are of major importance as raw material monomers in the flame-retardant treatment of cotton (industrial protective clothing, furnishing fabrics, etc.). Proban chemicals are produced from THPC or THPS with urea194. These compounds have been often patented as additives of natural and artificial fibres210,211, coatings 212,213 and in fire-proofing solution for wood214.
