Lifestyle changes caused by urbanization in industrial countries also lead to changes in food processing methods. People eat more frequently in restaurants, cafeterias, canteens, or fast-food chains, where food is processed in large quantities, even before it is needed, and a decline in the number of home-prepared meals is also observed.
