Software location also tracks business location. Distribution of the objects among hosts comes after and is independent of object design (see Pattern 16.12, Object Locality and Link Implementation). This applies whether there is a central server or several servers or whether the business objects are hosted on server machines or clients or in their own machines. The strength of this independence is that the hosting can easily be rearranged— dynamically, if appropriate—as people and departments are relocated. [Pg.668]

We consider a central business location in Vienna to be ideal for a consultancy such as ChemKit. Apart from good travel connections, another point to be taken into account is sufficient space for future expansion opportunities with a special focus on the transition countries in Eastern and Central Europe. Moreover, many public institutions such as the BMLFUW and other partners are also based in the capital. Further locations in the various Austrian federal provinces should also be considered for the planned expansion of business activities over the subsequent years. Priority should be given to Styria, Lower Austria and Upper Austria, as key customers are located in these federal provinces. [Pg.182]

In spite of pressure from inexpensive finished goods, the acrylic fiber industry in the United States depends heavily on exports. In 1992, exports accounted for approximately 28% of domestic shipments, surprisingly low compared to Western Europe and Japan. Rationalization of capacity, however, has left the United States with just two acrylic fiber producers, Monsanto and Cytec. However, in early 1997, Cytec announced the sale of its acrylic business to a subsidiary of Sterhng Chemicals, Inc. Under the agreement of Cytec will continue to supply acrylonitrile to the business, located near Pensacola, Florida. Besides the withdrawal of DuPont in 1991, the last major producer. Building a global enterprise around his air separation patents led Linde to all the major industrial economies of the time. Of particular interest is his foray into the United States. This current definition of principal place of business was adopted in 1998 along with the present 390.29 in order to allow motor carriers with multiple terminals and business locations to maintain records, such as driver records of duty status or vehicle maintenance records, at a location where activities related to the records took place rather than at a company s headquarters (principal place of business). [Pg.305]

Be aware though, the FMCSA has clarified that the 48 hours applies only to carriers with multiple locations that keep records at other company locations. These examples demonstrate how three different employers provide medical services using a combination of in-house resources, subcontractors, and government agencies. Some of the subcontractors bring their services to the premises in other situations the employees travel to the medical providers. In each case, the employer has selected services based on the special characteristics of the business process, the potential exposures within that process, the business location, and the employee population. Each medical program includes activities aimed at the prevention of exposures, the early recognition and treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries, and a reduction in the severity of and potential for disability from work-related illness and injury. [Pg.418]

These manufacturers can respond with shipments to one of the DCs or directly to the stores and, in the case of cyber orders, directly to a home or business location.
