Built On Mask

A second major development in photolithographic chemistry has been that of image enhancement by photobleaching. A number of different variations on this theme exist the primary ones are contrast enhancement (C L) (5), photochemical image enhancement (PIE) (6-9), and built-on mask (BOM) (10). CEL was the first of these to appear in this process a polymer containing a bleachable dye is spun on top of the resist, and both are exposed together. We originated the PIE system shortly thereafter it likewise uses a top layer of... [Pg.235]

This study is about the fault diagnosis by the hybrid method of qualitative model-based method and quantitative history data-based method. The diagnosis is performed by the observation of measured value and predicted value by DPLS model built on the local causal relationships of SDG The proposed method has the advantages to improve diagnosis accuracy and resolution, and facilitate diagnosis of masked multiple-fault. [Pg.448]

There are several choices of places to bnild micro bnmps on flexible circuits, as described in Chap. 64 (see Sec. 64.3.8). The same processes nsed to build ball grid arrays on rigid circuit boards are appropriate for flexible circuits with flexible photo-imageable solder mask. It is possible to build micro bumps on bare conductors using plating masks. Many micro bumps are built on fine flying leads without solder masks. A valuable construction of a flexible circuit is micro bumps built on the other side of the circuit through the dielectric layer. This can provide a reliable micro bump array because of the stable construction. [Pg.1582]

Environmentally Responsive Work-stations (ERWs). Workers in open-office areas have direct, individual control over both the temperature and air-flow. Radiant heaters and vents are built directly into their furniture and are controlled by a panel on their desks, which also provides direct control of task lighting and of white noise levels (to mask out nearby noises). A motion sensor in each ERW turns it off when the worker leaves the space, and brings it back on when he or she returns. [Pg.671]

Aramaki and Atkinson were also active in work on the spiro-oxazines [65]. They noted that for NOSH in many polar and nonpolar solvents the picosecond time-resolved resonance Raman spectra simply built up over 50 psec with no shape evolution. The same finding was concluded from transient absorption measurements over the same time scale. The spectra/absorbances were then constant for 1.5 nsec. These authors suggest that only two isomers can be expected to contribute to the merocyanine spectra because those trans about the y-methene bridge bond attached to the naphthalene ring are sterically crowded due to short interproton distances. There was no evidence for the X transient in their study however, the 50-psec convoluted pulse profile may be expected to mask this sortlifetime species even if it were present. [Pg.369]

The standard LIGA process is then followed polymerization of the thick X-ray resist directly on to the substrate, exposure to synchrotron radiation through a precisely adjusted mask, development of the resist, and electrodeposition. Some parts of the metallic microstructures are built up on the first metal layer, while other parts lie on top of the sacrificial layer. After stripping the resist, the sacrificial layer is etched selectively against all the other materials. [Pg.377]

A second Welsh chemical warfare establishment was at Rhy-dymwyn, near Mold in Clwyd. Here, the Ministry of Supply built a gas factory which was joined, in 1942., by an even more secret installation an isotope-separation plant, part of the British project to create an atom bomb. The atomic plant employed over one hundred people, supervised by twenty Oxford scientists from the Clarendon Laboratory. Employees from one site were not allowed into the other, but as workers at both had to carry gas masks it was assumed by the local inhabitants that they were all engaged on the same project this, it was rumoured, was a scheme to manufacture synthetic rubber. [Pg.66]

In an alternative approach developed by NimbleGen (http //www.nimblegen. com/, Madison, WI), arrays are built using photodeposition chemistry based on a maskless array synthesizer (MAS). The MAS system is a high-density DNA fabrication instrument that uses a maskless light projector as a virtual mask instead of the physical chromium masks used by Affymetrix. The virtual mask is an array of hundreds of thousands of individually addressable aluminum mirrors on a computer chip. These mirrors function as virtual masks that reflect the desired pattern of UV light and are controlled by the computer. [Pg.1095]
