This system is able to generate pressure in the wheel cylinders independently of driver action. Six pressure sensors are necessary to detect the pedal travel ( braking request), the pressure of the high-pressure accumulator, and the brake pressure in the individual wheels. [Pg.333]

The pressure sensor is part of the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) safety system for motor vehicles. It transforms hydraulic braking pressure into an electric signal.
