Bleed causes

A common problem associated with the administration of the bile acid sequestrants is constipation. Constipation may be severe and may occasionally result in fecal impaction. Hemorrhoids may be aggravated. Additional adverse reactions include vitamin A and D deficiencies, bleeding tendencies (including gastrointestinal bleeding) caused by a depletion of vitamin K, nausea, abdominal pain, and distention. 

The devil you knew is safer than the one you ve just heard about. In the rofecoxib debate, for example, the media rarely attempted to quantify the number of life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeds caused by first generation NSAIDs but avoided by rofecoxib. Instead, the discussion focused entirely on the newly-identified cardiovascular risks.

Pao Sheng Jiang is bitter and warm, and enters the Middle-Jiao and the Spleen meridian. It particularly warms the Middle-Jiao and stops bleeding caused by Spleen-Yang deficiency, such as in peptic ulcer, chronic colitis and dysentery. It can also be selected as deputy in formulas that warm the Middle-Jiao. 

Bleeding caused by trauma or injury, nose bleeds, gum bleeding, retinal bleeding, coughing out or vomiting blood, blood in the urine or stool, heavy menstruation and purpura. The amount of blood loss can be large or small the color can be red, dark-red, purple-red or pinkish the quality can be thin or thick. 

These herbs can treat bleeding caused by heat. Da Ji and Xiao Ji are sweet and cold, and enter the Liver... 

Xiao Ji is not as cold, and its function of cooling blood and stopping bleeding is not as strong as that of Da Ji. It is particularly effective in reducing heat in the Lower-Jiao and in treating bleeding caused by damp-heat in the Lower-Jiao, such as in acute urinary tract infection, cystitis and pyelonephritis. 

Huang Qin is used as a corrective assistant in the formula to reduce heat and prevent bleeding caused by the hot Fu Zi.

The incidence of hemorrhagic complications is particularly high when high doses of streptokinase are used in the treatment of deep venous thrombosis (31). High-dose streptokinase thrombolysis for 2-3 days with an initial dose of 500 000 units followed by a maintenance dose of 3 600 000 U/day led to a 10% rate of major spontaneous bleeding complications, with a fatal outcome in four older subjects out of the total of 98 patients. Dissection of Tissues. An isolated report describes a marked increase in the anticoagulant effects of acenocoumarol, with bleeding, caused by use of a herbicide containing thiocarbamates.
