The [Co(tame)2]3 and [Pt(tame)2]bis-triaminates underwent a template condensation with propanal under basic conditions to give with remarkable regio- and stereo-selectivities rigid sarcophaginates with an expanded cavity [154]. [Pg.105]

Condensation of [Co(tacn)2] bis-triaminate with formaldehyde and nitromethane led to an unusual clathrochelate complex with a stable carbanion, A tripodal cap from three formaldehyde and one nitromethane species formed on one octahedral face as expected by the conventional route. However, on another octahedral face, the capping process proceeded in an unusual way to stabilize a carbanion chelate and to methylate the remaining coordinated amino group ... [Pg.106]

All the linear triamines (27)-(31) are commerically available and there are others, such as 6,6-tri, which, as yet, do not appear to have been used in the preparation of coordination complexes. These linear polyamine ligands can coordinate in either meridional or facial topology and both bis(tri-amine) and mono(triamine) complexes are possible for octahedral central metal ions. [Pg.44]

We have prepared a variety of new Schiff base bis crown ether ligands (98-100) that contain alkali and transition metal coordinating sites via the condensation of two or three equivalents of 4-formyl-benzo-15-crown-5 with an appropriate di- or triamine (Scheme 18). Homometallic copper(I), silver(I), and heteropolymetallic copper(I)-sodium, silver-(I)-sodium, and potassium complexes have been isolated. The singlecrystal X-ray structure of the [Cu(57)K](PF6)2 complex (100) is shown... [Pg.118]

Co(H2NCH2CH2NHCH 2CH2NH2)2](NO 3)3 is named as Bis (diethylene triamine) cobalt(III) nitrate. [Pg.28]

The synthesis of lanthanide complexes [244] with multidentate diethylenetriamine (dien) gave rise to two types of complexes, Ln(dien)3(N03>3 for Ln = La-Gd, and Ln(dien)2(N03)3 for Ln = La-Yb. The tris complexes contain ionic nitrate while the bis complexes contain both ionic and coordinated nitrate ions. The coordination number is nine in the tris complexes while it is not known with certainty in the bis complexes. With triethylene triamine (tren) two types of complexes [Ln(tren)(N03)3] and Ln(tren)2(N03)3 have been isolated. In the bis complexes both ionic and coordinated nitrate groups are present for larger lanthanides (La-Nd) but only ionic nitrate for smaller lanthanides (Sm-Yb). When perchlorate is the anion [245] Ln(tren)(C104)3 (Ln = Pr, Gd, Er) and Ln(tren)2(C104)3 for Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Gd, Er complexes were obtained. The monocomplexes contain coordinated perchlorate ions while the bis complexes contain ionic perchlorate ions. [Pg.299]

Peptide coupling reagent bromotris(pyrrolidino)phosphonium hexafluorophosphate (PyBrOP) was used in synthesis of 10-membered succinyl bis(amide) 27 in 57% yield (Equation 3) <2002TL2593>. Similarly, 1,6-diazacyclo-decane substituted on only one nitrogen atom was prepared by reaction of A -trityl-protected linear triamine with succinyl anhydride. The amides were further reduced to amines using LAH <2002TL2593>. [Pg.618]

Similar reaction of tris(SES) triamines (diethylenetriamine and dipropylenetriamine) with a series of bis(bromo-methyl)arenes (naphthalene, anthracene) afforded arene-containing macrocycles in high yields <2001JOC2722>. Alternatively, o-nitrobenzenesulfonyl (nosyl, Ns) <2001BML1521> or nosyl/trifluoroacetyl <20010L3499> derivatives of ethylene-propylenetriamine and dipropylenetriamine were cyclized with methyl 3,5-bis(bromomethyl)benzoate... [Pg.619]
