Basic conditions INDEX

The basic condition of the Standard application - the availability of stable coupled probabilistic or the multiple probabilistic relations between then controlled quality indexes and magnetic characteristics of steel. All the probabilistic estimates, used in the Standard, are applied at confidence level not less than 0,95. General requirements to the means of control and procedure of its performance are also stipulated. Engineers of standard development endeavoured take into consideration the existed practice of technical control performance and test at the enterprises that is why the preparation of object control for the performance of nondestructive test can be done during the process of ordinary acceptance test. It is suggested that every enterprise is operated in correspondence with direct and non-destructive tests, obtained exactly at it, for detailed process chart and definite product type, however the tests have long since been performed after development of the Standard displayed that process gives way to unification. [Pg.25]

Photosensitivity a basic condition for holographic data storage is the interaction of the material with light and the formation of refractive index modulation. [Pg.105]

Post-polymerization functionalization has also been applied to the synthesis of terpyridine-modified polymers [ 126]. In a recent approach, Schubert and colleagues employed this method to prepare poly(pentafluorostyrene) with terpyridines in the side chains [127]. First, poly(pentafluorostyrene) with a narrow polydispersity index of just 1.08 was synthesized by nitroxide-mediated polymerization. In a second step, this polymer was converted with amine-functionalized terpyridine under microwave heating, selectively substituting the para-fluorines. Addition of iron(II) sulfate to a solution of the terpyridine-functionalized polymer in a mixture of chloroform and methanol leads to gelation at a polymer concentration of 33 g In another work, Schubert and coworkers prepared metal-cross-Iinked polymer networks from linear and tri-arm PEG precursors, both functionalized with terpyridine at their OH-termini [128]. Quantitative functionalization of these precursors was achieved by conversion of the hydroxy-functionalized PEG derivatives with 4-chloro-2,2 6, 2"-terpyridine under basic conditions. However, quantitative cross-linking with iron(II) chloride was not observed in methanol solutions, neither at room temperature nor at elevated temperature, but only a small quantity of cross-linked material precipitated from the solution. This observation was attributed to a strong tendency of the tri-arm PEG to form intramolecular complexes, acting as a chain stopper rather than as a cross-linker. [Pg.14]

Under appropriate reaction conditions, regular hexagonal platelets (ca. 50 nm thick and 20 pm in diameter) can be obtained. The high refractive index (n — 2.0), high aspect ratio (> 200), and the extremely even surface of basic lead carbonate make it an optical match to natural pearl essence. [Pg.217]

Record the chromatogram as a retention index standard for all runs performed under the same operating conditions (see Basic Protocol 1). [Pg.1034]

The basic idea of the active constraint strategy is to use the Kuhn-Tucker conditions to identify the potential sets of active constraints at the solution of NLP (4) for feasibility measure ip. Then resilience test problem (6) [or flexibility index problem (11)] is decomposed into a series of NLPs with a different set of constraints (a different potential set of active constraints) used in each NLP. [Pg.50]

What a beautiful tool is cyanuric chloride for the chemist working in chemical synthesis Three chlorine atoms offer reaction with a large proportion of the chemicals listed in the Beilstein Handbook or the Chemical Abstracts Index. Not only that the chlorine atoms are reasonable enough not to react simultaneously but, under adequate conditions, stepwise, allowing myriads of potential combinations. Furthermore cyanuric chloride has been and is a relatively cheap key material it can be produced quite easily from such basic materials as chlorine and hydrocyanic acid. [Pg.16]

A basic waveguide structure, which is sketched in Fig. 1, is composed of a guiding layer surrounded by two semi-infinite media of lower refractive indices. The optical properties of the stmcture are described by the waveguiding layer refractive index Hsf, and thickness t, and by the refractive indices of the two surrounding semi-infinite media, here called (for cover) and (for substrate). Application of Maxwell s equations and boundary conditions leads to the well-known waveguide dispersion equation [6] ... [Pg.104]
