Barring monitoring, information system

The status bar displays information about the current status of the acquisition system the position of each of the four axes of the probe position monitor the maximum amplitude of the signal within the gate for both the coupling channel and the signal (flaw detection) channel and the current operating mode of the system, which may be record-... [Pg.768]

The Shotscope system also maintains and displays statistical process control (SPC) data in a variety of formats, including trend charts, X-bar and R charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams. This information provides molders with the knowledge that their processes are in control, and, should they go out of control, Shotscope can alert to an out-of-control condition and divert suspect-quality parts. Furthermore, because the Shotscope system can measure and archive up to 50 process parameters (such as pressures, temperatures, times, etc.) for every shot monitored and the information archived, the processing fingerprint for any part can be stored and retrieved at any time in the future. This functionality is extremely important to any manufacturer concerned with the potential failure of a molded part in its end-use application (for example, medical devices). [Pg.182]

The LAS also controls specimen distribution. It monitors aU specimen distribution system bar code readers and gates, routes specimens to workstations as required, monitors specimen tracking information, monitors instrument status, alerts an operator of any instrument problems, and notifies instruments of each specimen that has to be sampled. [Pg.291]

Sensing Input devices (e.g., sensors, bar code readers) can gather and communicate environmental information to computers or humans. A decision may be made by computer systems based on the input information. The decision may also trigger output devices (e.g., robot turns, monitors) to realize the decisions. [Pg.156]

To monitor the injeetion molding proeess, pressmes in the eavity or nozzle have been usually measured and recorded for the statistieal data proeess up to now. Measurements of temperatures at the mold wall and strains of the tie bars are reeently introduced. However, a few engineers reeognize how to utilize the information from the PMS. Relationship between the information from the system and the state of resin in the mold should be clarified further in order to fully utihze the system. [Pg.1505]
