The hand tube bender shown in Figure 40.30, consists of a handle, a radius block, a clip, and a slide bar. The handle and slide bars are used as levers to provide the mechanical advantage necessary to bend the tubing. The radius block is marked in degrees or bend ranging from 0 to 180°. The slide bar has a mark which is lined up with the zero mark on the radius block. The tube is inserted in the tube bender and after the marks are lined up, the slide bar is moved around until the mark on the slide bar reaches the desired degree of bend on the radius block. [Pg.618]

That s when Gwyneth Paltrow walked in. Gwyneth Paltrow No. 1. A white blonde, she faced the bar, put her bag down on the pastel, serape-striped barstool, opened it, picked up her cell phone, flipped it open and flipped it shut like someone checking a gun clip. [Pg.84]

Magnetic stirrers and stirring bars—Standard magnetic stirrers with stirring bars (or cut up paper clips) small enough to fit in sample chamber of the oxygen electrodes—5 required. [Pg.422]

There are basically three types of distribution that can be used to make product available to consumers intensive distribution, selective distribution, and exclusive distribution. In intensive distribution, the product is sold to as many appropriate retailers or wholesalers as possible. Intensive distribution is appropriate for products such as chewing gum, candy bars, soft drinks, bread, film, and cigarettes, where the primary factor influencing the purchase decision is convenience. Industrial products that may require intensive distribution include pencils, paper clips, transparent tape, file folders, typing paper, transparency masters, and screws and nails. [Pg.2129]

Cathodes have an effective depositions surface area of 1.67 m and there are 33 cathodes in a cell. A knife switch type is used for the cathode contacts. This type allows the cathode header bar to come in contact with both the clip and the equipotential bar, resulting in a wide contact area. With a self-weight contact type, the contact resistance is increased because the weight of the cathode is light at the initial stage of electrolysis. To minimize this disadvantage, the knife switch type has been consistently in use to the present time. [Pg.244]

Place the stabilizer bar in position install the stabilizer bar bush and clip on the carriage. Screw on and pretighten the bolt. [Pg.200]

Place the stabilizer bar in position install the stabilizer bar bush and clip on the carriage. Align the mark on the stabilizer bar to keep the left and right gap of stabilizer bar are same. Then install the bolt temporarily and pretighten it. [Pg.223]

While the data gave little reason for concern over the exposure of the general population to the field in a chlor-alkali plant, it is possible for the field to interfere with the operation of low-power electronic devices. Cardiac pacemakers are one example. The ACGIH in the same list of TLVs referred to above suggested a value of 5 G for persons with these devices. Adams reported that one company had set its own limit of 1G. Since this is a small multiple of the normal background, the rule effectively bars those with pacemakers from approaching a cell room. While not covered specifically by these rules, there should also be special concern for those who wear or carry other medical devices such as aneurysm clips, suture staples, and prostheses. These can respond to forces produced by stronger fields, but no definite limits have been set. [Pg.758]

This impedance was acquired using an internal resistance of commercial measuring equipment of 10 2. As the cell impedance was less than 0.1 Q, a lower sense resistor was desirable. The authors used and calibrated a shortening bar as a 0.1245 2 sensing resistor, determined its characteristics, and subtracted its impedance to obtain the pure impedance of the battery. The result is shown in Fig. 16.4 (right). In these measurements long commercial cables with crocodile clips were replaced by short cables bolted to the cell terminals. It is also recommended to use coaxial cables or twisted cable pairs in which currents flow in opposite directions, decreasing the inductive effect [693, 694]. [Pg.338]

Lightning belts are set above the main cables by 10 cm, and the materials and specifications of the lightning belts are stainless round steel bars with the diameter of 12 mm, fixed with the main cables by the clips. The clips are set on both sides of clamps of every slings with double sides welding to ensure that the clamps are reliably connected with lightning belts. The clip and the clamp should be processed into a whole component. [Pg.232]
