Bag-in-box systems

The group of special containers for beer packaging covers one-way kegs, wooden barrels and bag-in-box systems. [Pg.326]

Bag-in-box systems and other possibilities to transport larger volumes of noncarbon-ated liquids are not very common for beer. Later carbonation at the point of sales or when transferred to the next production step (filling in bottles, cans, etc.) will be necessary. The absence of carbon dioxide increases the susceptibility of the product and therefore enhances the risk of contamination, especially with microorganisms that, becanse of then-low tolerance of carbon dioxide, would not be considered as beer spoilage organisms. [Pg.326]

Metal Box has developed a copolymer polypropylene container. Poly-can, which has an anti-static additive and is suitable for water-based paints and coating products. Another development is the first bag-in-box paints from Ashwell Paints. A smooth flow is obtained in this system by the use of an open bung and screw top rather than a tap. [Pg.757]

With wines available in bag-in-box and in cartonboard structures, and with interest in the packaging of beer in plastics, there is considerable scope for similar active packaging systems with these products. [Pg.99]

Experiments were performed in a Teflon-film bag of about 300 litres placed in a dark box equipped with an irradiation system and a temperature regulation device. The latter consist of 2 fans fixed at the top of the box flushing laboratory air around the bag. The irradiation system consists of 6 Philips TMX 204 LS fluorescent tubes (30 W, max = 254 nm) and 6 Philips TMX 200 LS tubes (18 W, Xmax = 365 nm), distributed on both chamber sides. Each tube can be operated separately in order to modulate the irradiation flux. In the experiments presented below, only the fluorescent tubes at 365 nm have been used. Organic... [Pg.182]

Specialist low volume systems. Formulation supplied to end user in a ready to apply form - no dilution necessary. Nomix hand lance system. Packaging of bag in a box type. Main applications in the local authority/amenity sector. [Pg.55]

In addition to the realm of multicultural musical instruments, there are many other real-world particle systems that exhibit one or two fixed resonances like the maraca. A bag or box of candy or gum, a salt shaker, a box of wooden matches, and gravel or leaves under walking feet all fit pretty well within this modeling technique. We will look at the analysis and synthesis of walking sounds in Chapter 15. [Pg.164]

Interior. Again, polyamides have been used for some time for switches, handles, seat belt components, etc. Big new applications include air bag containers (very tough stiff resins are required to withstand the explosive inflation forces), pedals, and pedal boxes. Polyamides have also been used to replace metals in seat systems (39). [Pg.5921]

In choosing an inert-atmosphere system, one should select a system commensurate with the job at hand. It makes no sense to invest thousands of dollars in a sophisticated dry box when an inexpensive glove bag might serve just as well. [Pg.570]

The objectives in the final stage of the total papermaking system are to improve the paper surface, to reduce rolls and sheets in size, to modify paper for special properties, such as coat or emboss, to convert to finished products, such as bags and corrugated boxes, and to package for shipping. [Pg.1260]

Prior to the start of any production activity, materials and components must be transferred from a warehouse environment into a classified environment. For most items this will necessitate removal from boxes or cartons, transfer to a nonwooden pallet, and passage through an air lock which serves as the transfer system between the controlled and uncontrolled environments. Often components are contained within plastic bags within a box or carton, and in some cases there are multiple bag layers to facilitate disinfection and passage through air locks into different zones of operation within the aseptic area. The firm may utilize an external disinfection of the materials in conjunction with this transfer. The concern is for minimization of particles and bioburden on these as yet unprocessed items in order to protect the controlled environment. [Pg.124]

Procedures for the preparation of chromium(II) acetate have been presented in three of the preceding volumes of Inorganic Syntheses. In Volume VI it is pointed out that the methods described earlier require complicated apparatus, whereas a glove box can be used more easily to provide an inert atmosphere. Complete displacement of air from a dry-box, however, often is difficult. A technique has been developed which involves a less cumbersome closed system used in conjunction with a dry-bag for transfers. ... [Pg.125]

Particle harvesting is not easy, especially when very fine particles are collected. On a small scale, it is possible to close the bag after dep-pressurizing the collection vessel and to transport it into a glove box, where the powder can be recovered in an adequate vessel. On a large scale, this system appears to be not applicable in most cases and in situ harvesting is often mandatory. [Pg.636]

Portions of tissue including normal and tumor-containing tissue are wrapped in aluminum foil, labeled with a permanent marker (Block 1,2,3, etc.), placed into a small zip lock bag and placed into a small sliding lid box. These are then stacked inside of larger cryoboxes that are labeled (see Note 16). The timing for data entry is best determined by work-flow for given sites. If fhe system is web-based, data entry can occur at locations convenient to after hours or off-site situations. [Pg.211]
