Collection vessel

The liquid drained from a vessel may flash a considerable quantity of natural gas when it flows into an atmospheric drain header. The gas will find a way out of the piping system and will seek the closest exit to atmosphere that it can find. Thus, a sump collecting vessel drains must be vented to a safe location. [Pg.464]

Auffdnger, m. collector collecting vessel, receiver catcher. [Pg.39]

Auffang-gefass, n. collecting vessel, receiver, -kolben, m. receiving flask, -rohr, n., -rfihre, /. collecting tube, pipe or cylinder, -schale, /. collecting dish or basin drip pan. auffkrben, v.t. dye anew, redye. [Pg.39]

Automatic gas purgers comprise a collection vessel for the gas mixture with an inhuilt cooling coil connected to the main suction, or with its own refrigeration system. Condensed refrigerant returns to the condenser, and any gas remaining in the vessel will he non-condensihle and can he vented hy an inverted bucket trap. [Pg.143]

Although the equilibrium constant for this reaction is not particularly favorable, the reaction runs to the right because potassium is more volatile than sodium the potassium vapor is driven off by the heat and condensed in a cooled collecting vessel. [Pg.708]

Connect a vacuum manifold to a vacuum source not to exceed 20 in Hg, and place a 1-L waste liquid trap between the manifold and the vacuum source. To use the manifold, remove the cover, and place a Luer hub solvent guide needle on the male Luer fitting of each flow control valve. Remove the collecting vessel rack, and replace the cover. Close all control valves on the manifold cover. [Pg.366]

When considering how much urine to collect, one must decide whether to collect individual voids as discrete samples or to collect larger samples where the test subject voids several times in one collection vessel. If the researcher is interested in examining the analyte in the urine in each void, smaller 500-mL wide-mouthed jars can be used to collect each void over a 24-h period. These are generally referred to as spot void samples. Taking void spot samples in this manner allows the researcher to examine each void for the test analyte and also to composite a portion of each void into one 24-h sample in order to look at the overall concentration of the test analyte in the 24-h urine sample. If the spot samples are to be composited, aliquots of each spot sample should be removed based on each void s percentage of the total weight of the 24-h sample. The spot sample aliquots can be composited to form one 24-h sample. The leftover spot samples can be used to obtain individual void measurements of the analyte in question. [Pg.1017]

Another option for the researcher is to collect two 12-h urine samples each in 4-L polyethylene urine collection vessels or in large 1-L wide-mouthed polyethylene jars. This allows the researcher to examine the excretion pattern of the active ingredient in two 12-h segments. [Pg.1017]

When collecting urine samples from test subjects, the tare weight of the collection vessel must be recorded before giving the container to the volunteer. The urine samples must be kept cold during the collection process. To do this, the samples should be kept in Coleman-type coolers with blue ice in the bottom. The blue ice should be frozen solid prior to placement in the cooler. Usually 3-5 pieces of blue ice should be used per cooler. [Pg.1017]

In the loop interface the fluid from the extraction cell passes continuously through an injection loop and into a collection vessel. Injection of a predetermined fraction of the extract onto a packed column is made by switching the loop so that it is in-line with the flow of fluid to the analytical... [Pg.410]

Oxidative heating of oily iron dust in a collecting vessel caused vaporisation of oil and subsequent ignition, causing an explosion. [Pg.1548]

The energetics from the RDM, the propellant grinder, and COINS operations are hydrolyzed to completion in Area 200 within the propellant collection reactor (PCR) and the energetics/propellant deactivation reactor (EPDR). The PCR is used as a collection vessel for the material processed by the propellant... [Pg.98]

After 10-12 days, the maximum product concentration was achieved and fluvastatin completely consumed. The 6-hydroxy-fluvastatin-containing culture liquid was stored in the Wavebag at —20 °C for later purification. In other cases, the culture liquid was conveniently and safely harvested from the Wavebag without aerosol formation by sucking into glass bottles in a vacuum line with a sterile filter installed between the collecting vessel and the vacuum pump. [Pg.365]

The organic phase is removed by applying a positive air pressure to the extraction vessel, thus forcing the extract up a PTFE tube and through a probe into a glass, or polypropylene, extract collection vessel situated in the extract collection module. During the washing cycle, the tube and probe are washed out with ethanol—water and then blown dry with air. [Pg.129]
