Automatic filling device

Maintenance of Liquid Nitrogen. A variety of automatic filling devices have been designed to maintain the liquid nitrogen level within a Dewar. Many of these... [Pg.396]

The use of an automatic filling device and the determination of the running time via light barriers at the marks Mi and M2 facilitates the measurement and minimizes personal errors. [Pg.34]

LPG cylinders are filled only at purpose-designed filling plants and (if refillable) are returned there when exhausted. To provide a continuous gas supply, two, four or more cylinders are connected to a changeover valve so those empty cylinders can be exchanged without interrupting the supply. Automatic changeover devices are available, which switch to the reserve supply when necessary, and indicate that they have done so. A typical wall-mounted ACD is illustrated in Ligure 20.9. [Pg.306]

Two questions, where to monitor or sample and how to obtain representative samples are both important. Surface water samples often are collected by automatic sampling devices controlled by a variety of sensors. The simplest method of collecting water is the grab technique, whereby a container is lowered into the water, rinsed, filled, and capped. Specialized samplers frequently are used to obtain water at greater depths. [Pg.445]

Automatic-filling machines are available, which can have more than one product-dosing device. Therefore, combinations of materials can be filled into the same capsule, such as mixture of a powder and a semisolid formulation or a powder and a tablet. The same formulation rules apply as to single forms. Combinations of materials allow the formulator to achieve specific goals in terms of product stability and types of release. [Pg.412]

Capsules manufactured for use on automatic filling machines, which covers almost all pharmaceutical capsules, have locking devices moulded into the side of the capsule (Figure 11.29). There are two locking positions, a pre-lock to prevent premature opening prior to the... [Pg.444]

P) Micro bulb pipettes exist in many forms. The microcaps (Firm 51) are intended for a single use. These are precision capillaries of capacity 1 — 100 [xl. They may be used with or without a filling device (Fig. 20b). Accuracy of better than 1 % is claimed. The self filling and adjusting Lambda pipette (Fig. 20 d) exists in the normal form with mark (Fig. 20e) and in several other forms from 1 to 1000 d (Firm 117). The automatic micropipette is based on the same principle (Fig. 20 c) (Firm 33). [Pg.62]

Prepare suitable quantities (at least 2 liters at a time is recommended) of dilute radiocarbon solutions by diluting the stock solution of active carbonate with the sodium chloride dilution solution. These working solutions should be prepared immediately before ampules are filled (jee below) and care must be taken when handling the stock radioactive carbonate solution to see that none of it touches the hands or mouth or contaminates the benches of the laboratory in which subsequent work with radioactive carbon is to be carried out Work over a large enamel tray covered with paper towels to catch and absorb any drips. Ordinary volumetric glassware may be used in this dilution operation but should be rinsed very thoroughly with acid and with distilled water after use. Use some form of automatic sucking device with pipettes. [Pg.269]

The automatic bagging and pall zing unit will be purchased with all the controls attached. The drum- and carton-filling stations will require accurate weighing devices that automatically meter a prescribed amount into each container. The other operations will be essentially manual. [Pg.179]

Control Devices. Control devices have advanced from manual control to sophisticated computer-assisted operation. Radiation pyrometers in conjunction with thermocouples monitor furnace temperatures at several locations (see Temperature measurement). Batch filling is usually automatically controlled. Combustion air and fuel are metered and controlled for optimum efficiency. For regeneration-type units, furnace reversal also operates on a timed program. Data acquisition and digital display of operating parameters are part of a supervisory control system. The grouping of display information at the control center is typical of modem furnaces. [Pg.306]
