A feature of PC spreadsheets is that the position of rows or columns can be changed at the touch of a key, so the sequence of the rows of activities can be rapidly altered, and the position of the columns varied to preserve the diagonal pattern of crosses. This exercise can be executed a number of times to reduce the scatter of the stars away from the diagonal line and reduce the communicating distances between the activities. This has been carried out, and the result is shown in Table 7.2, where it can be seen that the stars are clustered more closely around the diagonal line.
