Answering exam questions

It is rarely necessary to answer exam questions in a particular order. Start with the question that you feel most comfortable with since it will help to boost confidence. Make sure it is clearly identified by number for the examiner. 

Lecturers can easily monitor students. Elearning allows the automatic saving of data on the host computer. The data will be updated when learners access the programme. Lecturers can assess learners by requiring them to answers exam questions and considering the amormt of time taken to finish the exam. This helps lecturers evaluate fairly learners performance. 

The directions on an exam allow 2j hours to answer 50 questions. If you want to spend an equal amount of time on each of the 50 questions, about how much time should you allow for each one ...

The free-response questions on recent exams have been concerned with the equipment, measurements, and calculations required. In some cases, sources of error are considered. To answer the question completely, you will need an understanding of the chemical concepts involved.

Before you stcirt to answer a test question, stop and think. Write down the assumptions that cire pertinent to the question/problem on your scratch paper. Make a few notes and maybe even sketch out the reaction/answer before you start answering the question on the exam paper. Then work steadily and Ccirefully on the answer. Make sure that everything you write down is clear and reasonable. 

Normally, you would have about three hours for this test however, for now, don t worry about timing. Just take the test in as relaxed a manner as you can. The answer sheet you should use for answering the questions is on the following page. Then comes the exam itself, and after that is the answer key, with each correct answer explained. The answer key is followed by a section on how to score your exam.

Because of the computer-adaptive nature of the exam, you must answer each question as it appears on the screen. As you answer each question, the computer assesses your answer and then presents you with your next question, either a more difficult or an easier one, depending on whether you correctly answered the last one. That means you cannot go back to a previous question. You must answer each question as it is presented. 

The test scorers will not evaluate your test booklet, so feel free to write in it in any way that will help you during the exam. For example, mark each question that you don t answer so that you can go back to it later. Then, if you have extra time at the end of the section, you can easily find the questions that need extra attention. It is also helpful to cross out the answer choices that you have eliminated as you answer each question.

Although the A+ objectives talk almost exclusively about Windows 9x and Windows 2000, you may see exam questions on Windows NT as well. Because NT and 2000 are very similar in their architecture and key files, you should be able to answer most NT questions by simply providing the answer that would be appropriate in Windows 2000. The AP exam usually starts out with yet a third type of question something called a reverse multiple choice. That is, five choices are listed, and then several questions follow. What it does ask—almost every year—are questions such as Which of the following has the greatest dipole moment or Which of the following has no dipole moment. This section lays out a set of rules that seek to orient students as to what constitutes the best answer on the USMLE. Apply these rules to answer presented questions on the exam. 

The most effective way to use this book is to answer each Study Question before looking at the discussion of the item. Jot down a note of how you arrived at the answer you chose. Next, look at the analysis of the question. Compare your approach with that of the experts. If you missed the item, do you understand why If you chose the correct response, was it based on understanding or chance After you have spent time with the Study Questions, treat the Practice Questions as if they were an actual exam. Allow yourself 50 minutes, and write down your response to each question. Finally, score yourself. Go over the practice questions again. Write down what you needed to know before you could answer the question and write down how you should think the problem through to reach the intended answer. ... 

To show that IR alone does have some use but that NMR data are usually essential as well. In answers to exam questions of this type it is important to show how you interpret the data as well as to give a structure. If you get the structure right, this doesn t matter, but if you get it wrong, you may still get credit for your interpretation. 

In addition, each SAT exam contains a 30-minute experimental verbal or math section, used for equating, that does not count toward your score, so there may be 15 more quantitative comparisons on your exam (though you win only be scored for 30 of the potential 45 questions). Since you don t know which section is experimental, it s best to be prepared to answer many of these question types. You are allowed to use a calculator to answer math questions on the exam, if you wish. 

Other types of questions Other exam questions you might encounter include true-false questions and ones in which you are given a list and asked to indicate which members of the list match some criterion given in the question. Often students answer such questions incorrectly because, in their haste, they misunderstand the nature of the question. Whatever the form of the question, ask yourself this What is the instructor testing here What material am I supposed to know that this question covers ...
