Alkoxylated fatty amines

M. Hofinger and H. Schellenberg. Process for the preparation of polycondensation products from alkoxylated fatty amines, diols and aliphatic dicarboxylic acids (Verfahren zur Herstellung von Polykon-densationsverbindungen aus oxalkylierten Fettaminen, Diolen und Aliphatischen Dicarbonsauren). Patent EP 299348,1989. [Pg.405]

The introduction, before spinning, of hydrophobic (e.g., polysiloxane) or hydrophilic agents (alkoxylated fatty amines, primary fatty acid amines) confer to the PO fibers and to the articles made of them the desired properties [72-76]. [Pg.830]

Glycidyl ether additives are obtained by esterification of alkoxylated primary fatty amines and additives of polyether-block polymers and glycidyl ethers with dicarboxylic acids [1025], They are used as demulsifiers to break up oil emulsions and, as quatemized products, they are suitable as corrosion inhibitors. [Pg.341]

Industrial surfactants find uses in almost every industry, from asphalt manufacturing to carpet fibers, from pulp and paper production to leather processing. Examples of the types of chemicals used as surfactants are fatty alcohol sulfates, alkanolamides, alkoxylates, sulfosuccinates, amines, quaternaries, phosphate esters, acid esters, blockcopolymers, betaines, imidazolines, alkyl sulfonates, etc. [Pg.283]

Fatty Amines. A variety of different fatty amines is used as intermediates for surfactant production. Primary amines are used to prepare alkoxylated amines. The primary amine is produced by reacting fatty acid with ammonia to form the nitrile followed by hydrogenation. Tertiary amines are used as an intermediate for producing betaine, amine oxide, and hydroxyl ethyl quat (HEQ). The tertiary amine is produced by reacting olefin with HBr followed by substitution with dimethylamine. [Pg.1722]

The methyl sulfate dialkyldimethyl quaternaries and ester quaternaries are the cationic surfactants of choice for tumble dryer sheets. The compounds typically used to optimize the softener actives release from the dryer sheet include poly(ethylene glycol) esters and fatty amine soaps. Recent data indicate that through the proper selection of release agent (such as a 4 mol alkoxylate), the melt characteristics of the dryer sheet actives can be optimized to deliver the softener actives more consistently over the entire tumble drying cycle. [Pg.318]

Amine alkoxylates are not the only nitrogen derivatives to find utility in agrochemical applications quaternary ammonium salts [79], amine oxides [80], alkylamidoamines [81] and betaines [82] are also reported to have similar bioefficacy-enhancing properties to fatty amine alkoxylates. There has also been development of adjuvants with improved biodegradability and certain fatty esteramine and amidoamine deriviatives, for example, have been developed that exhibit enhanced biodegradability [81]. [Pg.38]

Amine salts of acrylate ester polymers, which are physiologically acceptable and useful as surfactants, are prepared by transesterifying alkyl acrylate polymers with 4-morpholinethanol or alkanolamines and fatty alcohols or alkoxyl-ated alkylphenols and neutralizing with phosphoric acid. This polymer salt (pH of a 10% aqueous solution = 5.1) was used as an emulsifying agent for oils and waxes [70]. [Pg.565]

The development of monoalkyl phosphate as a low skin irritating anionic surfactant is accented in a review with 30 references on monoalkyl phosphate salts, including surface-active properties, cutaneous effects, and applications to paste and liquid-type skin cleansers, and also phosphorylation reactions from the viewpoint of industrial production [26]. Amine salts of acrylate ester polymers, which are physiologically acceptable and useful as surfactants, are prepared by transesterification of alkyl acrylate polymers with 4-morpholinethanol or the alkanolamines and fatty alcohols or alkoxylated alkylphenols, and neutralizing with carboxylic or phosphoric acid. The polymer salt was used as an emulsifying agent for oils and waxes [70]. Preparation of pharmaceutical liposomes with surfactants derived from phosphoric acid is described in [279]. Lipid bilayer vesicles comprise an anionic or zwitterionic surfactant which when dispersed in H20 at a temperature above the phase transition temperature is in a micellar phase and a second lipid which is a single-chain fatty acid, fatty acid ester, or fatty alcohol which is in an emulsion phase, and cholesterol or a derivative. [Pg.611]

The antistatic agents recommended for PO fibers are quaternary ammonium salts of fatty acids, alkano-lamines, alkanolamides, polyglycolesters, alkoxylated triglicerides, and ethoxylated tertiary amines (Table 2). The quaternary ammonium compounds and nonionic surfactants dominate this field because of their higher oil solubility and hygroscopicity. [Pg.832]
