Air blasters

The effective range of a typical air blaster is on the order of 1.8—2.4 m. If a single air blaster does not provide sufficient energy to break an arch, multiple units can be used. These are fired simultaneously if at the same elevation, then start sequentially from lower elevations in the hopper and work upward. 

When firing an air blaster, the pressure in the chamber is initially felt at nearly its maximum value in a locali2ed area of the bin wall around the blaster no22le which may require reinforcement to take the pressure.

Tell trainees what engineering, administrative, and work practice controls your company has implemented. Warn employees that abrasive blasters dusty clothes can contaminate their cars, homes, and other worksites with hazardous air contaminants and expose members of their households. Then go over measures to ensure that this does not happen, i.e., showering and changing clothes. 

The reactors were equipped with interlocks to prevent opening the reactor drain valve if the reactor was pressurized. The CSB theorized that the blaster operator believed he was at the correct reactor and the bottom valve on Reactor D310 was not properly functioning. The CSB established that bottom valve actuator air hoses were found disconnected. Furthermore the emergency air hose to bypass the interlock was comiected [8]. This is obvious part of a Human Error type incident.
