Advertising measurement

There is often a feeling that one can not afford advertising measurement. While it is true that some measurement studies are expensive, it is also true that there is nothing inexpensive about following a path in which you do not know where you are going or where you are. In many cases the can not afford attitude is just an alibi put up by those who do not want to have a measurement program for other reasons. [Pg.63]

Professional researchers themselves sometimes contribute to poor test results by insisting on improving the design or experiment as the test goes on. All of you who have been active in the field of advertising measurement know of instances where improvements in the study form over different phases of the research have been commendable in themselves but unfortunately have affected the responses in subtle ways that weakened the comparability of each set of results. [Pg.64]

Advertising measurement studies will continue to remind business management that advertising is not something in itself but is rather one tool that should be coordinated with other elements in the marketing plan, such as direct sales, technical literature, and technical service. [Pg.66]

With this much interest in polyethylene, many attempts have been made to use low frequency NMR in either the time domain or frequency domain to monitor and control the production more rapidly. Auburn International (now part of Oxford Instruments) developed a widely adopted system based on the time domain spectrometers [21]. In this case, sample preparation is no longer an issue since the system accepts either powder or pellets and no solvent is used. The Auburn systems determine crystalline and amorphous ratios, viscosity, melt index and molecular weight For other types of polymers, the list of advertised measurements include tacticity, rubber content, copolymer analysis, and various rheological properties. These values are determined by correlating several routine but laborious methods with the decay of the NMR signal under various pulse sequences. The man-hours... [Pg.901]

These data for typical properties of EP polymers are either as measured or as advertised by respective manufacturers. This table is not intended to be definitive either in terms of the total grade slate or the specific data reported for each producer. Note that the molecular weight distribution data are based on a qualitative comparison of GPC curves. Mooney viscosities are repotted for final product form (i.e.. in the case of oil-extended rubbers, the viscosity is that of the EP plus oil. [Pg.191]

Design strategies and measures for the initiative, including a transition strategy that may be an exit or continued inteivention such as advertising and education. [Pg.760]

Fluorescence-based bulk viscosity measurement is one application that advertises itself almost immediately, particularly with julolidine-derived molecular rotors where the quantum yield is widely independent from solvent polarity. Solving (5) for r] and assuming proportionality of quantum yield and emission intensity leads to (13),... [Pg.288]

Note that a voltmeter is an exception to the general rules outlined in Table 1.2, since a voltmeter measures potential alone. The use of the name voltmeter has arisen largely on account of manufacturers advertisements. The old-fashioned name of potentiometer is preferred, but won t be used here. [Pg.7]

Many of these nostrums were advertised to cure a myriad of diseases, but probably failed to cure any. However, they certainly created countless alcoholics and morphine addicts. By the early 1900s, concern regarding patent medicines was on the rise and the medical profession soon formally discredited their production. These measures unfortunately came too late to curb the infiltration of opium into American society. [Pg.67]

The measures for actively raising awareness at the market entry stage include, among others, advertisements in special-interest magazines, presentations at trade fairs, training programmes, and the participation in information events. The BMLFUW s subsidy schemes also add to the incentives for potential customers to adopt the business model. [Pg.179]
