Drinking water consumption can be put at about lOOm /day (corresponding to roughly 0.5 per employee), with possible short-term peak demand of 20— 30 m /hour on account of shift working. It is therefore advisable to have a stored supply of at least 25 m, e.g., in a water tower. 

The lesson is that what appears to be a major problem at one level may not be perceived as such at another. The staff notes that on May 31, 1990, WSRC instituted a General Employee Training (GET) Program for the reactor area. The 8-hour course provides information on personnel evacuation, assembly, and accountability for the reactor areas. All reactor area employees are required to attend GET and obtain proof of successful completion of the training (i.e., sign-off by the instructor). If they fail the course, reactor area employees are not permitted unescorted access to the protected area. The staff noted that the GET course lesson module, while satisfactory, lacks information on how personnel accountability will be handled. 

A second phenomenon that serves to organize activities is of course the formal and explicit mles and instmctions that the employees in Sarix adhere to and how these rules are sedimented in procedures and regulatory artifacts. These rules (and their materialization in technical artifacts) constitute the practice landscape. Such rules and guidelines are available both in relation to professional conduct and in relation to how the employees are supposed to perform in order to justify their work contributions to the company. Each and every employee in Sarix (except employees in management positions and administration) should be able to dedicate 75 to 80 % of his or her work hours to customer-financed projects. Time spent on other activities were considered and categorized as unproductive time. The employees at Sarix had to fill out an electronic time sheet and account for their work hours with respect to specific projects on a weekly basis.
