Auroux (175) studied the acidity of the small-pore zeolite ferrierite, measuring the differential heats of adsorption of five probe molecules with different basicities. A summary of these results is presented in Table XII. Ammonia adsorption at 423 K indicated the occurrence of two nearly energetically homogeneous site populations, whereas acetonitrile adsorption revealed a... [Pg.204]

The framework of terranovaite (Fig. 1), characterized by a pentasil chain, can be described by the interconnection of the polyhedral subunits 4 6, 4 5 and 5 6. The 4 6 unit has been found in laumontite and boggsite the 4 5 unit has been found in brewsterite, heulandite group zeolites and in synthetic SSZ-23 and SSZ-33 the 5 6 unit has been found in gottardiite, boggsite and in synthetic EU-1. The net of terranovaite projected onto the be plane (Fig. 1) is equivalent to that of many other pentasil zeolites (ferrierite, boggsite, ZSM-5, ZSM-11, theta-1), while the net projected onto the ab plane is equivalent to that of AIPO4-41 [9]. [Pg.85]

A novel catalyst formulation based on the microporous zeolite ferrierite has been reported by Suib (137) as being of interest, and j8-NiMo04 has been reported to provide high selectivity for the ODH of propane. [Pg.1466]

This technology is still under development. It is carried out essentially on Fe-or Mo-modified, zeolites. Very few investigators reported their work on vanadium and heteropolyacid based catalysts. Investigations using CaO catalysts also appear in the literature. The monomeric and dimeric ferric ions were found to be active in ODH of ethane with nitrous oxide giving a product selectivity of 40-60% at 350°C on Fe-modified zeolites (ferrierite and MFI). On the other hand, Fe oxide nanoclusters resulted in overoxidation of ethane and/or ethylene to C, CO and CO2 [88]. Iron modified zeolites of different structures viz., ZSM-5, zeolite Y and mordenite were tested in the ethane and propane ODH. The nature of zeolite dictated the catalytic activity. The best... [Pg.311]
