Based on the animal data, the most consistent effect of exposure to DEHP is the increase in the concentration of liver peroxisomes. This effect occurs to varying degrees in all species that have been evaluated. However, evidence for an effect of DEHP exposure on human liver peroxisomes is weak. Limited data regarding biopsies from human livers, under circumstances in which DEHP was present in the hemodialysis equipment, did not lead to meaningful conclusions (Ganning et al. 1984, 1987). Therefore, a liver biopsy with subsequent histopathological examination of the cells would seldom if ever be justified as a test for the long-term effects of DEHP exposure due to the difficulties associated with this procedure. 

As a construction material, plastics provide practically unlimited benefits to the fabrication of products, but unfortunately, as with other materials, no one specific plastic exhibits all these positive characteristics. The successful application of their strengths and an understanding of their weaknesses (limitations) will allow to produce useful products. With any material (plastic, steel, etc.) products fail not because of its disadvantage(s). They failed because someone did not perform their selection in the proper manner and/or incorrectly processed the plastic. 

A corollary deserves a mention in this era of multi-wavelength astrophysics presence of 7Be may be detectable by the /3-decay of this unstable nucleus - 7Be(e i/e)7Li with 10% of the decays providing a y-ray at 478 keV. Several searches for the 478 keV y-ray line have been reported. The most recent is by Harris et al. (2001) who report upper limits on the 478 keV flux at least an order of magnitude higher than predictions for the several well observed novae - only weak limits can be placed on the key parameters in the nucleosynthesis and ejection of 7Be . Prospects for detection of nearby novae using INTEGRAL appear quite good. 

Frailty is not a simple characteristic to define, but it clearly includes factors such as loss of muscle strength and weakness, limited mobility, being underweight and failing to use nutrients effectively.28 Eventually, the progressive decline means that many elderly people cannot cope alone and require assistance. Some older people, nevertheless, are relatively unaffected and continue to be able and active. So there must be differences between those who manifest major signs...
