Community support packages (e.g. keyworker) remain unchanged during short admissions -include them in ward management. Even if unable to attend usual activities (e.g. college), Oliver will appreciate familiar faces. 

Don t make unrealistic promises, e.g. about curing problems or staying until better . Always check your consultant s and CMHT s views, especially regarding timescales. Involve a few key staff (e.g. CC, ward manager), and reinforce the community plan wherever possible ...

Inform the consultant, ward manager and unit manager. Don t interview the alleged perpetrator. Your colleague should be taken off duties while the allegation is investigated. Advise them to contact their indemnity provider/union for legal support. 

Don t make management decisions alone. A team response is essential, especially when working with people who have personality difficulties or who recurrendy self-harm consider a formal MDT meeting. Actively involve Catriona wherever possible, and explain the plan to her in the presence of her named nurse/ward manager to ensure everyone hears the same message.

Persuasive proof of sulfanilamide s true antibacterial prowess came from Leonard Colebrook and his team of researchers in the maternity ward of Queen Charlotte s Hospital in London (7, 8, 9). I well remember the EA 3443 volunteer (ease 333, above) who managed to break out of the padded ward and mn down the hallway in an effort to eseape. Reliable Master Sergeant Owen Jones (age 48) ran him down and taekled him while the rest of us piled on to temporarily immobilize him. The mnaway quickly forgot that he was frightened, and we were able to guide him back to his cubicle without difficulty. Thereafter, he remained generally cooperative. No injuries had occurred and he could not even recall the incident after the test was over.
