While the argument remains a strong one - non-human host cells for human protein drags for biosafety reasons - it should be noted that recently (2002) a human cell line was approved for the production of a recombinant protein. A human embryo kidney cell hne, transformed by a shared adeno-viras DNA (Human Embryo Kidney 293-cells), was used to produce Activated Protein C (E. liUy). 

In a baculovirus-infected insect cell culture, nutrients are converted into biomass, viras progeny and desired product protein, as well as diverse by-products [20, 21]. The relative quantities of these culture products can be influenced by modification of critical kinetic process parameters, including the time point of infection (TOI, typically expressed as cell density at infection) and the multiplicity of infection (MOI, number of infective viral particles per cell) [20-22]. Different strategies to modulate TOI and MOI along with nutrient supply and timely infection are covered in the following sections.

Chlordane interacts with other chemicals to produce additive or more-than-additive toxicity. For example, chlordane increased hepato-toxic effects of carbon tetrachloride in the rat, and in combination with dimethylnitrosamine acts more than additively in producing liver neoplasms in mice. Chlordane in combination with either endrin, methoxychlor, or aldrin is additive or more-than-additive in toxicity to mice. Protein deficiency doubles the acute toxicity of chlordane to rats. In contrast, chlordane exerts a protective effect against several organophosphoms and carbamate insecticides, protects mouse embryos against influenza viras infection, and mouse newborns against oxazolone delayed hypersensitivity response.
