Verify the Trigger Event Related Work Is Complete

3 Verify the Trigger Event Related Work Is Complete [Pg.76]

The PSSR team s job is easiest when the trigger event involves a straightforward physical installation or modification to a system or piece of equipment. When programming for safety instrumented systems (SIS) or other process control needs are involved, the PSSR team may need to make a special effort to verify the change is complete. [Pg.76]

For physical trigger events, a team member or multiple team members can schedule a visit to the work location during construction or installation and again when the work is logged as complete. If the members have the proper expertise, they can quickly determine what has been done and what has yet to be done. [Pg.76]

For software-related trigger events, the team may require a specialist in the programming arena to design a way to show that the change has been made and that it will operate as intended. [Pg.76]

In either case, each team member must be satisfied that the trigger event has been addressed in a way that is safe for startup prior to putting their identiftcation or signature (whether hardcopy or electronic) on the PSSR indicating the review is complete and all required activities have occurred or are identified. [Pg.76]
