The information to be fnmished by the vendor is speeified in 6.2 and 6.3. The vendor shall complete and forward the Vendor Drawing and Data Requirements form (see Appendix O) to the address or addresses noted on the inquiry or order. This form shall detail the schedule for transmission of drawings, curves, and data as agreed to at the time of the order, as well as the number and type of copies required by the purchaser. 

The drawings indicated on the Vendor Drawing and Data Requirements form (see Appendix O) shall be included in the proposal. As a minimum, the following data shall be furnished ...

An extrapolation of the number of nodes based on a project s number of P ID sheets may be made. Currently produced P IDs will normally have one or two nodes. For estimating purposes use two nodes a sheet. Older existing facility P ID s and vendor drawings may have four or more nodes on a single P ID sheet. 

Mechanical design documentation (e.g., package plant vendor drawings)... 

Long delivery equipment - specifications, bid, P.O., vendor drawings, and delivery. 

Certified vendors drawings must be expedited for timely submittals. 

Concentrate initial efforts on early completion of vendors drawings requiring approval. 

Inspection of the plant to check that erected facilities conform to flow diagrams, construction drawings, vendor drawings, and the specifications. 

Cement concrete basin (if required by the vendor) drawing to be given by vendor for the cooling tower. 

Process plants are configured around process equipment, which is for the most part built to proprietary ( vendor ) designs. The quality and timing of receipt of the vendor drawings, and of information such as structural loadings and electric motor sizes ( vendor data ), are critical to the plant design effort. The provision of adequate and timely vendor information must be a prime objective of equipment procurement procedures, by specification, commercial terms, and by follow-up. 

Schedule needs. Three aspects need to be considered for each item in a package when is information available to purchase it, when is the item required on site, and, in the case of items of proprietary design, when are the vendor drawings and other interface information needed ... 

That is to say, requests for a relaxation from specification or approved vendor drawing/data detail, arising because of a manufacturing or sub-supplier problem. 

The nature of the work is repetitive and easily codified in a procedure. The number of documents to be processed is predictable, and the timing is more or less predictable. The work can and must be planned, and adequate resources made available, on pain of losing control of the project when, for instance, it takes a week to circulate a batch of vendor drawings because they must first be renumbered in the project system, but the document controller is overloaded. And the delay may only be recognized when the time has been irretrievably lost. 

Vendor data Ail purchased equipment and specialty bulk items (e.g., pumps, compressors, air coolers, furnaces, control and safety v ves, level instruments, strainers, and silencers) require preliminary vendor drawings for the development of piping layouts. Final tonified drawings are usually not required until the detail phase. 

Misalignment issues pertain to anchors that have been installed out-of-plumb or outside construction specification location tolerances. Most often these misalignments occur as a result of survey error or anchor shifting during placement of concrete. In some cases, vendor drawings with incorrectly detailed locations of the anchor bolts are the source of anchor bolt locations not matching equipment base...
