Velcro strip

A6.5.8.2 To maximize realism, an in-site label attached to a container will be used. To attach a different label to each container may pose an unnecessary burden on the tester, so it is proposed that the label be attached to a standard container, and removed after testing. This procedure may require an assistant to the interviewer if overly burdensome for the interviewer. It is important that every visual cue be offered to subjects to maximise their possibilities of comprehension, particularly for workers with low levels of formal education who rely on contextual information to a greater degree. Therefore, the labels should be presented attached to container at all times. A Velcro strip attached to the container may make the procedure relatively simple. 

Jim Cassetta (who will soon install his own hydro system and helped me finish this one) drilled the holes in the project box for the toggle switch and TPs. I added small velcro strips to the bottom of the multimeter and the front of the project box so the meter would adhere to the box. This multimeter is designed to hold its own test leads in its lid. I cut a small V in this lid so the wires of the test leads could exit the casing with the lid closed. The test leads then plug into the TPs on the project box, red to red and black to black. This setup permits the owner the option of removing the multimeter from the monitoring station for other duties. Since 1 had extra velcro strips, 1 also added several to one of the bowls of the hydro unit itself. This way, the meter could be stuck to the bowl for any streamside adjustments of the hydro unit s control box. 

Velcro strips secure the meter to the project hoz so it may he used else- here. Meter leads plug into test terminals in the hoz end. A snitch (right of meter) selects voltage or current (shunt) readings.

Hook-and-loop fasteners consist of two components. The first component features tiny hooks the second features even smaller and hairier loops. When the two components are pressed together, the hooks catch in the loops and the two pieces fasten or bind temporarily during the time when they are pressed together. When separated, by pulling or peeling the two surfaces apart, the Velcro strips make a distinctive ripping sound. 

Because of the myriad applications found for PSA products, a large number of backing materials or carriers are needed to satisfy end-use requirements. For tapes and labels thin and flexible materials such as paper, films, fabrics, and foils constitute the major share of backings. For other products, such as floor tiles or name plates, the backing can be rigid and thick. Other backings, for example Velcro strips, can be intermediate in rigidity. 

If you do not live in the country, leaving the doors and windows open is probably not an option. However, making a room light-tight enough to print is not that difficult. An easy way to block windows is to place a strip of Velcro around all four sides and attach a piece of blackout cloth, available from most photo suppliers. Alternatively, use a piece of black Foam... 

After the skin is cleaned, either a blood pressure cuff or a tourniquet is applied 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) above the intended puncture site. This obstructs the return of venous blood to the heart and distends the veins. When a blood pressure cuff is used as a tourniquet, it is usually inflated to approximately 60 mm Hg (8.0 kPa). Tourniquets are typically made ft om precut soft rubber strips or from Velcro type of bands. It is rarely necessary to leave a tourniquet in place for longer than 1 minute, but even within this short time the composition of blood changes. Although the changes that occur in 1 minute are slight, marked changes have been observed after 3 minutes (Table 2-1). 

But not every Velcro application has worked. The Worm Collar was not a success. It was a cylindrical strip that fishing enthusiasts were meant to slip onto the bodies of their live bait the idea was that it would snag the teeth of striking bass. A strap-on device for impotent men also flopped. 

The SMP strips are prestretched to fixed lengths or strains. In its fully developed form, the SMP bandage would be wrapped on the venous leg and held in position by Velcro fasteners or other similar means. Upon application of an external heat such as a hair drier or a hot towel, the SMP stripes would shrink and partially return to their original lengths, providing predefined forces or pressure distribution for the venous leg treatment (Ahmad et al., 2012 Luo et al., 2010). Figure 1.7 shows the working mechanism of these strips around a model leg. 

As the mold rotates past the extrusion-injection die head, the melt flows onto the circumference of the mold and is forced by the melt pressure into the cavities. Enough additional melt is supplied to create the base strip at the same time. By the time the mold has completed about one-half a revolution, the plastic has been cooled and solidified. Mold temperature is controlled by an air plenum located about one-quarter of a revolution before the injection point the molded Velcro itself is cooled by another plenum ahead of the strip-ofFpoint.
