Restricted rotation, as surface conjestion increases, was postulated as being responsible for the observed optical rotations as the generations increase,1251 the possibility of racemization during amino acid acylation was also investigated. Amino acid isolation and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis following acidic hydrolysis of the asymmetric dendrimers revealed an enantiomeric excess 96 %. 

Other aspects of these macromolecules that were discussed included glass transition temperature (Tg), spin-spin (T2) and spin-lattice (Ti) relaxation measurements, and molecular inclusion via dense packed entrapment of guest molecules. 

Antibodies have been coupled1271 to starburst (PAMAM) dendrimers these reagents offer an attractive approach to the development of immunoassays. These dendritic reagents are stable and retain full immunological activity - both in solution as well as when bound to a solid substrate their analytical sensitivity is equal to or is better than that of the established methods. The dendritic approach to radial partition immunoassays has been shown to possess the best traits of both homogeneous and heterogeneous immunoassay formats. 

Barth et alJ30 have reported the preparation of boronated starburst dendrimer— monoclonal antibodies immunoconjugates as a potential delivery system for boron neutron capture therapy. 31 32 Starburst dendrimers have also been employed as linker molecules for the covalent connection of synthetic porphyrins to antibodies J33
