Uterine weight

Rodent 3-day uterotrophic assay increase in uterine weight in ovariectomised rat. [Pg.18]

F (decreased mating and fertility indices, abnormal estrous cycle, decreased uterine weight)... [Pg.90]

Males and females given 2.32 mg Ni/kg BW daily for 4 days Males had inhibited testosterone levels and reduced growth, while females had increased uterine weights 7... [Pg.506]

Nuttall ME, Bradbeer JN, Stroup GB, Nadeau DP, Hoffman SJ, Zhao H, et al. (1998) Idoxifene a novel selective estrogen receptor modulator prevents bone loss and lowers cholesterol levels in ovariectomized rats and decreases uterine weight in intact rats. Endocrinology 139 5224-5234... [Pg.82]

In preclinical models, arzoxifene exerts an estrogen agonistic effect on bone and on the lipid profile and an estrogen antagonistic effect in breast and endometrium (Sato et al. 1998 Russo et al. 1990 Ma et al. 1998). Thus, in both the ovariectomized rat and the ovary-intact rat arzoxifene did not stimulate uterine weight gain (Russo et al. 1990). [Pg.292]

Black et al. (1994) first reported that raloxifene was effective in terms of bone loss prevention and lipid pattern without any stimulatory effect on the uterus. Specifically, the histological examination of uteri from ovariectomized rats treated with raloxifene alone shows poor effects on myometrial thickness and a uterine weight slightly higher than untreated ovariectomized rats (Black et al. 1994). [Pg.305]

Later, Fuchs-Young et al. (1996) demonstrated that raloxifene inhibited proliferation of rat leiomyoma cells in culture. In the same year, in one of the first reviews of the pharmacology of raloxifene, Bryant et al. (1996) showed that raloxifene exerted on animal models a dose-related capacity for blocking estrogen-induced stimulation of uterine weight gain. [Pg.305]

BPA was also tested in the uterotrophic test for estrogenicity at doses ranging from 200 to 800 mg kg-1 body weight. BPA was effective in increasing the wet uterine weight, confirming previous results. [Pg.934]
