User operational modes

March 1, 2006 The condition described is the result of what amounts to a foldback current limit design that s intended to prevent damage to either the regulator or the load under unusual fault conditions. Anyone familiar with foldback current limit will realize that there are always conditions that can be realized that force the foldback to get stuck in a stable, low output voltage operating mode. The solution in general is to reduce the load until the output is allowed to recover. The datasheet clearly advises the user what to look for and how to deal with potential problems that may arise from this. Any implication that the information is deliberately obscured is clearly misleading. [Pg.191]

R 12] [A 2] The screen is subdivided into three areas. The overview area (area 1) indicates the current operation mode (manual/automatic) and the protocol currently processed in the plant The machine area (area 2) gives an overview of the process parameters which can be modified in this area. The button area (area 3) provides access to functions such as user login, choice of language and the protocol administration. [Pg.578]

In the concentration range of in-line water disinfection, the occurrence of chlorate is usually denied by cell users and producers. Only a few data exist where the presence of chlorate is mentioned (Cho et al. 2001). Our own studies, however, clearly showed, both with synthetic and real waters and both in laboratory and technical cells, a high chlorate formation potential. For example, the chlorate concentration in technical reactors using BDD or MIO anodes and real drinking water (44 ppm Cl-) was in the range of some ppm (BDD) and some hundred ppb (MIO) in single-pass operation mode. [Pg.177]

The majority of the companies listed in Tables 1 and 2 store their available compounds in the form of dry powders (or whatever the natural state is), although samples dissolved in DMSO are becoming more available. For dry, solvent-free compounds selected from a supplier database, the samples will be weighed, usually manually, into cluster tubes or vials before shipping to the end user. This mode of operation may seem tedious, however, it does keep costs down for the preparation of samples for which automated weighing, e.g. of resinous compounds, is profoundly difficult. [Pg.132]

OMA-II model optical multichannel analyzer (12) as supplied. The OMA-II can be operated in a fully user-programmable mode ("open-system") using a Forth-based operating system. In this mode, any desired scan pattern and acquisition routine may be specified. [Pg.224]

Also, it should be noted that sodium cooled reactor is nuclear technology system, having maximum flexibility extent, i.e. it is capable of assuring the following operation modes in accordance with the user requests ... [Pg.15]

Bestic (Bestic AB, Stockholm, Sweden) [68], [69] and My Spoon (SECOM Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan) [70] are commercially available meal assistance robots that aid people with disabilities to feed themselves. They have the form of an end-effector that is fixed to a table, and their key functions are picking or scooping food and bringing the food to the user s mouth. My Spoon has three operation modes manual, semi-automatic, and automatic. The three modes differ in terms of the amount of user intervention during the feeding motion. In the manual mode, the user controls every single movement of the device with a joystick, whereas a... [Pg.499]

For very small comma-cial reactors with remote monitCHing, the load-following operating mode too ears to be mme reasonable and preferable as it does not result in lar economic penalties and requires less qiaatcx int mition in the reactor control process. Load-following appears to be most useful for electric power and co-generation a lications in remote isolated locations and should be provided when needed to meet user requirements. [Pg.15]

Each hazard is defined in such a way that there is minimal overlap between each of the hazards. This necessitates stating clearly the conditions under which each hazard can arise (e.g. the operational mode, the type of road user, etc.) and which causes are responsible for each hazard. [Pg.40]

Validation demonstrates that the installed SIS operates according to the design basis and that appropriate documentation is in place to support its long-term management. An input-to-output test is used to prove that the SIS functions properly and that the SIS equipment interacts as intended with other systems, such as the BPCS and operator interface. The Site Acceptance Test (SAT) also provides an opportunity for a first-pass validation of the operating and maintenance procedures. Validation must be completed prior to the initiation of any operating mode where a hazardous event could occur that would require the operation of a new or modified SIS. Some users require that validation be repeated after any major process outage or shutdown. [Pg.26]

The choice of a candidate turbine generator plant for the UNITHERM NPP depends on the plant capacity and operation mode (electricity generation or cogeneration) as requested by its users. It is planned to use standard turbine equipment, for example, manufactured by the Kaluga Turbine Works (AO KTZ) [II-6], These turbine-generators use steam of low parameters. [Pg.180]

The three operational modes of a triple quadrupole in MS/MS also act in its favor for structural elucidation. The capacity of an ion trap to work under MS" is rarely exploited by ion trap users. We therefore consider that the triple quadrupole offers more possibilities than the ion trap although the triple quadrupole costs almost twice as much as an ion trap in GC-MS. In mass spectrometry and other analytical fields, economic considerations often play a major role in choices. [Pg.111]
