Uncertainty principle proof

In modem physics, there exist alternative theories for the equilibrium statistical mechanics [1, 2] based on the generalized statistical entropy [3-12]. They are compatible with the second part of the second law of thermodynamics, i.e., the maximum entropy principle [13-14], which leads to uncertainty in the definition of the statistical entropy and consequently the equilibrium probability density functions. This means that the equilibrium statistical mechanics is in a crisis. Thus, the requirements of the equilibrium thermodynamics shall have an exclusive role in selection of the right theory for the equilibrium statistical mechanics. The main difficulty in foundation of the statistical mechanics based on the generalized statistical entropy, i.e., the deformed Boltzmann-Gibbs entropy, is the problem of its connection with the equilibrium thermodynamics. The proof of the zero law of thermodynamics and the principle of additivity... [Pg.303]

Again we recognise the use of politics of information and analysis by referring to expert analysis as support for one particular worldview. By giving support to the trade unions, NPD employs the principle of social proof in a situation characterised by ambiguity and uncertainty. Furthermore, NPD uses framing and clearly contrasts the views of the industry (oil companies) on one hand, and the view of the experts, unions and partly NPD on the other. [Pg.2072]

A fundamental tenet of aerospace engineering is to deal with uncertainty hy tying analyses closely to what is definitely known, for example, the laws of physics and mathematical proofs. Lighter-than-air airships are based on the principle of buoyancy, which derives from the law of gravitation. An object that weighs less than the equivalent volume of air experiences a net upward force as the air sinks around it. [Pg.10]

Simply put, the precautionary principle means "no health and safety data, no market." Such an approach requires preventative action in the face of uncertainty, assigns the burden of protection to those responsible for the potentially harmful activities, considers all alternatives to new activities and processes, and insists on public participation in decision-making. This would include prohibiting the marketing of untested or unsafe uses of nanomaterials and requiring product manufacturers and distributors to bear the burden of proof. [Pg.54]
