Ubiquitin carboxy-terminal hydrolase

In addition to the RC subunits detected in all eukaryotic organisms investigated so far, a few subunits seem to be species-specific. A member of the ubiquitin carboxy-terminal hydrolases (UCH) (Wilkinson 2000), has been found in Drosophila (p37A) (Holzl et al. 2000), S. pombe (Uch2) (Li et al. 2000), and human (UCH37) (Li et al. 2001), but not in S. cerevisiae 26S proteasomes. The Drosophila p37A subunit was mapped to the base-lid interface in close vicinity of the putative location of S5a/Rpnl0 (Holzl et al. 2000). [Pg.74]
