Turkey, the South Caucasus Countries and South-Eastern Europe seem to be the most promising markets for the Caspian gas. Recent statistics show that Armenia imported 100 %, whereas Georgia and Turkey roughly 95 %, and the South-Eastern European countries around 70% of its gas consumption (2000, 2001). All these countries currently import natural gas through existing pipelines mainly controlled by the Russian Gazprom or its subsidiaries. [Pg.13]

Boron never occurs as a free element but always as a compound. The most common minerals of boron are borax, or sodium borate (Na2B407) kernite (another form of sodium borate) colemanite, or calcium borate (Ca2B< Oii) and ulexite, or sodium calcium borate (NaCaB509). These minerals usually occur as white crystalline deposits in desert areas. As of 2008, Turkey was the largest producer of boron ore. Other major producers of boron materials are Argentina, Chile, Russia, China, Bolivia, and Kazakhstan. Production statistics for the United States were not released in order to protect trade secrets. [Pg.68]

Turkey is the primary producing country for hazelnuts, covering approximately 70% of the world market (FAOSTAT, 2007), but the Committee received no data on AFT levels in hazelnuts from Turkey therefore, the Committee chose to use all of the submitted data supplied by the EU (3163), USA (215) and Japan (6) for its analyses on the distribution statistics for AFBi and AFT concentrations. Seventy-seven per cent of the data were reported to be below the reporting limits (LCD and LOQ). [Pg.321]

Turkey is the main country producing dried fruits, covering approximately 63% of the world market (Seker, 2007). The statistical distribution of AFBi and AFT levels (mean, CV and percentiles) for dried fruits from producers is given in Table 5, as well as the impact of different MLs (4, 8, 10, 15 and 20 pg/kg) for AFT on this distribution and the corresponding proportion of rejected samples from the world market for each scenario. A large number of data (40 822 individual data) were provided for dried figs at this meeting by Turkey for the 2003-2006 period. [Pg.324]
