Triethylene glycol di-

PVB resins are also compatible with a limited number of plasticizers and resins. Plasticizers (qv) improve processibility, lower T, and increase flexibihty and resiUency over a broad temperature range. Usehil plasticizers include dibutyl and butyl benzyl phthalates, tricresyl and 2-ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphates, butyl ricinoleate, dibutyl sebacate, dihexyl adipate, triethylene glycol di-2-ethylbutyrate, tetraethylene glycol diheptanoate, castor oil, and others (64-73). [Pg.452]

The compound known as 18-crown-6 is one of the simplest and most useful of the macrocyclic polyethers. Its synthesis in low yield was first reported by Pedersen. Greene and Dale and Kristiansen" have reported syntheses of the title compound from triethylene glycol and triethylene glycol di-p-toluenesulfonate. Both of these procedures use strong base and anhydrous conditions and achieve purification by more or leas classical methods. The combination of distillation and formation of the acetonitrile complex affords crown of high purity without lengthy chromatography or sublimation. ... [Pg.33]

The term plasticiser for rubber, usually refers to the synthetic liquids used with the polar rubbers, i.e., triethylene glycol di-2-ethylhexanote and similar esters are the most favourite low temperature plasticisers for polar synthetic rubbers. [Pg.440]

A wide variety of plasticizers are suitable for PVB and PVF resins. For many years, the universally used plasticizer for PVB was triethylene glycol di(2-ethylbutyrate) [95-08-9] (6). More recently this has been supplanted by triethylene glycol di(2-ethylhexanoate) [94-28-0], tetraethylene glycol diheptanoate [70729-68-9], dihexyl adipate [110-33-8], 2-ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphate [1241-94-7], and a variety of other oligomeric ethylene glycol esters and ethers, and other adipate, phosphate, phthalate, sebacate, and ricinoleate esters (19,20,57-62). For PVF, diethyl, diphenyl, and dicyclohexyl phthalates, as well as tributyl, triphenyl, and tricresyl phosphates are useful plasticizers (21). By proper choice of plasticizer type and level, the physical-mechanical, chemical, and adhesion properties of these resins can be tailored for a wide variety of applications (see Plasticizers). [Pg.8842]

Triethylene Glycol Di(2-ethylhexanoate) n (-CH2O CH2CH200C-C7Hi5)2. a plasticizer for cellulosic plastics, polymethyl methacrylate, PVC, and vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers. In vinyls it is usually used as a secondary plasticizer at 10-25% of the total plasticizer, to impart low-temperature flexibility. [Pg.766]
