Trending Active power

There are many other aspects of recent FCV development that are worth commenting on, including a trend towards greater hybridization with batteries, which can make an FCV more responsive, and save money as a less powerful fuel cell might be required as a result. There have also been improvements in cold start-up (Honda is at the forefront here), and in the development of slim-line fuel cell systems that can fit into a car s chassis. Ju et al. (2005) have unveiled a control algorithm for active power distribution in a fuel cell/battery hybrid power source to improve system efficiency and battery life with load following capability. [Pg.97]

The Mallard-Le Chatelier development for the laminar flame speed permits one to determine the general trends with pressure and temperature. When an overall rate expression is used to approximate real hydrocarbon oxidation kinetics experimental results, the activation energy of the overall process is found to be quite high—of the order of 160kJ/mol. Thus, the exponential in the flame speed equation is quite sensitive to variations in the flame temperature. This sensitivity is the dominant temperature effect on flame speed. There is also, of course, an effect of temperature on the diffusivity generally, the dif-fusivity is considered to vary with the temperature to the 1.75 power. [Pg.185]

The thiophene endoperoxide (18) is a powerful episulfidation reagent. The stereospecific transformation of cis- or trani-cyclooctene suggests a concerted process. First-order consumption kinetics have now shown that (18) is not itself the active -transfer reagent two such intermediates are proposed, possibly oxathiiranes such as (19) or (20), based on similarities in the trends for epoxidations of the same substrate by DMDO. ... [Pg.239]
