Transfer amount

LB films of cadmium octadecanoate and other amphiphiles were transferred on a quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM, 9 MHz, AT-cut) as a substrate with a vertical dipping method. Frequencies of the QCM substrate were followed with time in air, after the QCM was raised from the interface. From the time courses of these frequency changes at each dipping cycle, the transfer amount of dry LB films (W ), the incorporated amount of water (W2), and its evaporation speed (v) could be obtained in nanogram level. 

Here the chromophores can be farther apart (10-100 A long-range interactions) since this mechanism does not require any overlapping of orbitals. The Forster radius designates the distance between donor and acceptor at which the efficiency of energy transfer amounts to exactly 50%. Half of the excited donor molecules are then deactivated by fluorescence resonance energy transfer, and the other 50% by fluorescence or phosphorescence. 

The pollutant release and transfer register (PRTR) system is one in which enterprises voluntarily calculate the amounts of specific chemical substances released into the environment that are potentially toxic to human health and/or the ecosystem, and the amounts of such substances contained in waste and transferred out of the firm s area, and report these amounts to their local governments. The national government adds up the released or transferred amounts of such a substance based on the reports from the enterprises, statistical data, etc. and publicly announces the results. 

Several of the surfactants generally used as daily commodity materials (the four listed below) fall under class I designated chemical substances in the PRTR system and, therefore, their release and transfer amounts must be reported to the government. These surfactants were designated because they are produced and imported in large amounts, have ecotoxicity (LC50 <10 mg/L), and were detected in two or more places in the environment (having no noteworthy toxicity to humans). 

Liquid handlers generally face uncertainty when performing transfers. The transferred amount can be a few percent off from the targeted amount, depending on the type of instrument. When serial dilution is used, instrument uncertainty is an accumulating effect. Since the source of the compound in the second point is the first point, the uncertainty of the second point constitutes the uncertainty of the instrument in performing the transfer plus the uncertainty of whatever is already...

The input radioactivity of the sewage was distributed throughout the sludge system by different mechanisms (Fig. 5). Initially, the total effluent radioactivity remained lower than the input radioactivity of the corresponding sewage. The unwanted Dq - F emission of the Ss site is suppressed in the commercial 3% Eu samples by the occurrence of energy traiLsfcr from Eu +(S6) to Eu (C2). The critical distance for this transfer amounts to about 8 A and exchange as well as dipole-quadrupole interaction seem to play a role [IS]. 

Even the inclusion of another possible system such as FeAl is straightforward. In Brazil, Leite (2006b) simulates the potential impact of the Bolsa Escola (School Grant) program on adult work effort and finds that the transfer amounts have little impact. Even a 10-fold increase in the size of unit transfers under Bolsa Escola would result in negligible impacts on adult work effort.
